Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has earned four nominations for the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA). The nominees were announced on Wednesday, and Ayra Starr is in the running for ‘Best African Act,’ ‘Best Push,’ ‘Best Afrobeats,’ and ‘Best New Artist.’
In the ‘Best Afrobeats’ category, she joins other Nigerian artists like Burna Boy, Tems, Asake, and Rema. South African singer Tyla also secured four nominations, including ‘Best New,’ ‘Best Afrobeats,’ ‘Best African Act,’ and ‘Best R&B.’
American pop sensation Taylor Swift leads the pack with seven nominations. The 30th MTV EMA awards will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Manchester’s Co-op Live in the UK.
