On Monday, Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro unveiled a 25-man squad for the team’s forthcoming international friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
The matches are scheduled in Portugal on Friday, October 13 and Monday, October 16.
Among the notable inclusions is midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, a 22-year-old talent who honed his skills in the esteemed Manchester City academy. Fisayo is the younger sibling of former Flying Eagles midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru, who was part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
In 2020, Fisayo moved to Sheffield Wednesday, where he accumulated over 80 appearances for the Sky Bet Championship club. Demonstrating his versatility, the gifted midfielder switched to Turkish Super Lig side Hatayaspor in July.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has made an impressive start to his tenure at Hatayaspor, netting four goals and providing two assists in just seven appearances this season. This promising form has undoubtedly caught the eye of the national selectors, earning him a spot in the Super Eagles squad for these upcoming friendlies.
