Ex-England International Worthington Dies Aged 72

Former England striker Frank Worthington has died aged 72 after suffering from a prolonged illness.

Worthington, who won eight England caps and scored twice for the national team, began his career at Huddersfield Town.

He went on to make more than 200 appearances for Leicester City and played for clubs including Bolton, Birmingham City, Southampton, Leeds United and Sunderland.

Worthington was known as much for his flamboyant antics off the pitch as he was for his immense talents on it.

He also had a spell as player-manager of Tranmere Rovers.

He played in 22 consecutive Football League seasons from 1966 to 1987, scoring 266 goals in 882 appearances in all competitions.

In 14 of those campaigns, he played in the top division, notching 150 goals in 466 matches, and won the Golden Boot award playing for Bolton in 1978-79 as the leading scorer ahead of Liverpool's Kenny Dalglish and Arsenal's Frank Stapleton.

The Serie A leaders had initially prohibited players from leaving Italy to go on international duty.

Belgium begins their World Cup qualifiers against Wales on Wednesday.

They will then face the Czech Republic in Prague on Saturday and Belarus at home next Tuesday.

Coach Roberto Martinez will be without injured midfielders Eden Hazard and Axel Witsel.

Mclaren Sign Teenager Ugo Ugochukwu

McLaren has signed a contract with 13-year-old American karter Ugo Ugochukwu to support him through racing's junior categories.

The Formula 1 team said the agreement gives them an option to sign Ugochukwu to a race deal in the future.

McLaren Racing chief executive officer Zak Brown said: "We've been watching Ugo's progress with interest.

"So when the opportunity to sign an agreement with him became available, we had no hesitation moving on it."

The move gives McLaren what they describe as a multi-year contract with Ugochuku, within which there is an option they can choose to take up which would tie him to a further multi-year racing deal. This could be in F1 or in other categories.

McLaren, like many F1 teams, has had a young driver program for many years. Their most high-profile graduate is Lewis Hamilton, who was also signed by the team when he was 13, and who remains so far F1's only black driver.

Ugochukwu, who was born in New York and whose mother is Nigerian, won last year's FIA OK-Junior European championship and has graduated to the senior class this season.

F1 has not had an American driver since Alexander Rossi took part in five races for the Marussia team in 2015.

Salah Confident Liverpool’s Season Will Get Better

Mohamed Salah is confident Liverpool's season is going to get better after a disastrous run between January and March derailed their Premier League title defense.

Jurgen Klopp's side was top of the table at Christmas but a run of just three wins and eight defeats in 14 league matches left them as outsiders to finish in the top four.

Back-to-back wins against RB Leipzig, setting up a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, and Wolves have lifted confidence and Salah believes they can start looking forward again.

"I'm happy about our last results, so hopefully we can just keep winning," the Egypt international, who has joined up with the national team for Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros, told liverpoolfc.com.

"It's tough for all of us because of the situation we have been through and our position in the Premier League, but I believe it's going to be better.

"In the Champions League, we are doing good."

Despite Liverpool's poor run, Salah is still this season's joint Premier League top-scorer alongside Harry Kane on 17.
