Ndidi Predicts A Stern Test For Leicester City As They Take On Man Utd Today

Two of the Premier League's top four sides are poised for an interesting fixture later today as the season nears its climax and Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi said the Foxes' targets won't change, irrespective of venue or opposition, especially at such a pivotal moment in the campaign.

Looking ahead to tackling Ole Gunnar Solskjær's Red Devils, the 24-year-old told LCFC TV: "It's one of those games. We have to try and do our best to get something out of it. We've got three games left, so it's that part of the season where every point is really important.

"It's a tough game. Obviously, the last time we met, we knocked them out of the FA Cup, but it's going to be a difficult game. We'll look forward to it and see what comes out of it. They're a really good team, a really strong side. The players they have are top quality.

"They've really done well in the league and the Europa League. They will also want to finish as high as possible, which is how every team wants to finish the season. It's something that means we have to go there, see what comes out of it, and we'll give everything."

Leicester City have won 10 and lost just two of their away Premier League fixtures this season, but Ndidi says that success comes down to always taking the opposition seriously, regardless of where they are in the league table.

The game's kick-off time is slated at 18:00 pm W.A.T today.

Portugal, Favourites To Host UCL Final

Portugal has come in as a strong candidate to host the Champions League final after UEFA did not gain guarantees of exemptions it wants to move the game to Wembley.

UEFA, UK government officials and the Football Association met on Monday to discuss moving the game between Chelsea and Manchester City from Istanbul.

UEFA has decided it will be moved after Turkey was put on England's red travel list meaning fans cannot travel.

Portugal is on the green list so fans would be allowed to attend on 29 May.

The match could still be played at Wembley but it would require a major shift from the government, who have so far failed to reach an agreement with UEFA.

European football's governing body feels in Portugal it is going to be easier to gain access for sponsors and broadcasters, who would need to be compensated if they were unable to attend the game.

Porto has been mentioned as a potential venue but it is understood Lisbon, which hosted last year's final, is also a possibility.

Travellers from England to green-list countries must follows rules before departure but do not have to quarantine on their return.

Cavani Signs Contract Extension With Manchester United

Edinson Cavani has signed a contract extension at Manchester United that keeps the Uruguay striker at the club until June 2022.

The 34-year-old has had an outstanding finish to the season, scoring eight goals in seven games.

Cavani said: "I have developed a great affection for the club and everything that it represents.

"I feel a deep bond with my team-mates and the staff who work behind the scenes."

Cavani, who was undecided over whether to stay for a second year, added: "They give me extra motivation every day and I know that together we can achieve special things."

Since joining on a free transfer in October 2020, the forward has bagged 15 goals in all competitions - his latest coming in Sunday's 3-1 Premier League win at Aston Villa.

He has been one of the leading strikers in European football for the past decade, scoring a record 200 goals in 301 appearances for Paris St-Germain after joining from Napoli, where he made his name.

Cavani left the French club in June 2020 following a disagreement with Brazil forward Neymar.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he always wanted Cavani to stay for a second season.

"I said when Edinson signed that he would bring energy, power and leadership to this group and I haven't been proved wrong, he has been everything I thought he would be and more," said the Norwegian.

Juventus Told They Face Seria A Expulsion After Super League Involvement

Juventus have been told they face expulsion from Serie A if they remain part of the European Super League.

The Turin club, along with Barcelona and Real Madrid, are yet to withdraw from the proposed breakaway league.

Italian federation president Gabriele Gravina said: "If Juventus does not respect the rules they will be out.

"At the time of registration for the next Serie A championship the club will be excluded if they decide not to withdraw from the Super League."

Juve, Barca and Real continue to be committed to the project, and last week defended their involvement in the breakaway league in the face of what they call "threats" from Uefa.

But pressure is mounting on Serie A club Juve to withdraw.

"We are all a bit tired of this tug-of-war between Uefa and these three clubs," said Gravina. "I hope this dispute can be resolved as soon as possible. I hope to be able to mediate between Juventus and Uefa.

"The rules foresee the non-participation in our championship if the principles established by the federation and Uefa are not accepted.

"It's not good for international football, Italian football, Juventus. We have already said that the football association respects the rules."

The ESL was announced on 18 April but within 48 hours the plans had fallen apart with the English clubs withdrawing after fan protests and UK government pressure.

The nine clubs who withdrew from the competition have been given a financial punishment by UEFA.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal, along with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, also committed to the European governing body and its competitions.
