Arsenal Confirm £21m Signing Of Jakub Kiwior From Spezia

Jakub Kiwior, a defender from Poland, has been acquired by Arsenal for £ 21 million from Serie A team Spezia.

The 22-year-old spent the weekend in London and attended Arsenal's 3-2 victory against Manchester United on January 22 at Emirates Stadium.

Kiwior agreed to a deal that runs through 2027 with an additional 12-month extension option.

"We're thrilled to have finalized the acquisition of Jakub Kiwior," stated Sporting Director Edu. We've been keeping an eye on this rising star for a time. Now that Jakub has joined us, we are all looking forward to working with him and seeing him grow. Jakub is welcomed at Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta, our manager, said, "It's excellent that Jakub is joining us. Young and versatile, he has already distinguished himself at the international level for Poland and with Spezia in Serie A.

Jakub is a player who will offer our defense strength and quality. Jakub and his family are welcome here at Arsenal, and we look forward to working with him.

Jakub, Arsenal's second January acquisition following Leandro Trossard's switch from Brighton, will set them back around £17.5 million upfront, with an additional £3.5 million in potential add-ons.

The Premier League's top team will gain depth through the addition of Kiwior, who has been eying a different left-footed center defender.

Queen Oshoala Rules Spain

Oshoala, a standout for the Super Falcons, was included among the goal scorers when Barcelona defeated Real Sociedad 3-0 on Sunday to claim the Spanish Women's Super Cup.

Aitana Bonmati scored the game's first goal in the 13th minute, followed by a second goal in the 47th, and Oshoala added a third goal to secure the victory in the 96th minute.

Following the men's team's victory in the same tournament last weekend, the victory at the Estadio Romano in Merida brought the first trophy of the year.

Since the Super Cup's creation in 2020, Barcelona has won it three times in as many years. Atletico Madrid was the only side to stop them when they defeated them on penalties in the semifinals of the following year, 2021.

The last domestic title Barca failed to capture was that one. They went on to win the Champions League, the Liga F, Copa de la Reina, and Super Cup last season, in addition to a league and cup double in 2020–21.

Lampard Expected To Be Sacked By Everton

After a run of bad luck that has left Everton tied for last place in the Premier League, Frank Lampard is anticipated to be fired as manager.

For the first time since October 2021, Everton owner Farhad Moshiri saw his team lose to West Ham 2-0 on the road, marking the Toffees' third straight league setback.

Former Chelsea manager Lampard joined Goodison Park in January 2022, and although helping the team escape the relegation zone last season, he has only 15 points from 20 games and three victories this year, the poorest win total in the league.

Everton is now 19th in the standings after a run of 10 games without a victory across all competitions. During that span, they have also been eliminated from both domestic cup tournaments. Southampton is the only team behind them on goal differential.

Chelsea Agree £29m Deal To Sign PSV Eindhoven Forward

Chelsea and PSV Eindhoven have reached an agreement for the winger, and Noni Madueke is getting ready to go to England. With this acquisition, Chelsea will have spent £190 million in this transfer window.

Noni Madueke, a winger for Chelsea, and PSV Eindhoven have reached an agreement in principle for £29 million.

The player arrived in London on Thursday and is scheduled to have a physical on Friday morning, albeit there are still some last-minute technicalities to work out in the transaction.

Before transferring to Tottenham, Madueke began his youth career with Crystal Palace.

He left Spurs for PSV Eindhoven in 2018, becoming a first-team regular for the 2020–21 season, and scored nine goals in 35 appearances the previous year.

Because they had previously sold Cody Gakpo to Liverpool this window, PSV had a notion they wouldn't want to trade him, but Chelsea was reportedly quite eager.

Chelsea will have spent £190 million this transfer window, £270 million in the summer, and £460 million overall since Todd Boehly took over the club.

Madueke will join the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, and Andrey Santos as Chelsea's sixth acquisition of the January transfer window.
