EPL: Conte Undergoes Emergency Surgery

Antonio Conte, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has been granted a leave of absence by the organization because he will need emergency surgery today to remove his gallbladder.

Through a short statement on its website, Tottenham reaffirmed this.

Conte had considerable stomach discomfort when he became unwell earlier this week.

Cholecystitis, a disorder that results in gallbladder enlargement and redness, has been identified as the illness afflicting the former Chelsea manager.

“Antonio Conte recently became unwell with severe abdominal pain,” Tottenham’s statement read.

“Following a diagnosis of cholecystitis, he will be undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder today and will return following a period of recuperation. Everyone at the Club wishes him well.”

Chelsea ‘Make £105 Million Bid To Sign Argentine Star Enzo Fernandez ‘

Enzo Fernandez of Benfica is apparently the target of a £105 million offer from Chelsea, making him the most expensive player in Britain.

After satisfying Fernandez's buy-out clause, the Blues are getting closer to securing the prospective signing.

According to The Telegraph, the financial structure of Chelsea's offer is still being negotiated, but the west London club is now optimistic that a deal can be reached,

Despite the fact that this payment arrangement isn't ideal for Benfica, the Blues are sure they can go through with a deal.

On Sunday, Chelsea announced the acquisition of Malo Gusto from Lyon for £26.3 million. Earlier in the month, Chelsea had a bid of over £75 million including incentives rejected for Fernandez.

The Blues have confidence in landing a deal since Fernandez has been quite vocal about his desire to leave the Portuguese club during the January transfer window.

It's believed that the side of Todd Boehly has made a £105 million bid, which they want to spread over one huge payment and five subsequent instalments.

Fernandez's deal would exceed the previously unheard-of £100,000,000 sum that Man City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish in 2021.

David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos, Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, and Malo Gusto are just a few of the new players Chelsea has added to its team this month.

After completing his transfer to Stamford Bridge, Gusto will return to Lyon on loan for the remainder of the current campaign before joining Chelsea permanently in the summer.

JUST IN: Sean Dyche Replaces Frank Lampard As Everton Manager

Following the resignation of Frank Lampard, Everton has named Sean Dyche as their new manager, the team said on Monday.

Everton was two points from safety and 19th in the Premier League following a streak of 10 games without a victory that led to Lampard's dismissal last week.

Dyche is charged with guiding Everton out from the relegation zone under a two and a half year deal that runs until June 2025 at Goodison Park.

“It’s an honour to become Everton manager. My staff and I are ready and eager to help get this great club back on track,” Dyche said.

“I know about Everton’s passionate fanbase and how precious this club is to them. We’re ready to work and ready to give them what they want. That starts with sweat on the shirt, effort and getting back to some of the basic principles of what Everton Football Club has stood for a long time.”

Criticism Made Me Consider Walking Away- Southgate

Because of the criticism he received before to the World Cup, Gareth Southgate thought about resigning as England's manager.

He stated: "The last thing you want as a manager is if your presence is divisive and limits performance."

18 months after losing the Euro 2020 final to Italy on penalties at Wembley, England was eliminated from the tournament by France in the quarterfinals.

In June, after losing to Hungary 4-0 at Molineux in the Nations League, the squad was jeered off the field. This was only one in a string of dismal performances that led up to the winter World Cup.

He revealed to BBC Sport for the first time how he came to that choice, saying, "I never want to be in a position where my presence is negatively affecting the team.

"I didn't believe that was the case, but I just wanted a period after the World Cup to reflect and make sure that was still how it felt."

The 52-year-old said he asked himself: "Is it the right thing to keep taking this project on? I wanted to make sure I'm still fresh and hungry for that challenge."

Describing his role as "the greatest privilege of my life", he said the decision to stay was ultimately "not difficult" because of "the quality of performances and the progress that we're making".

"The team are still improving. We're all gaining belief in what we're doing," he said.
