Arsenal Star Bukayo Saka Arrives in Nigeria, Generating Great Reception From Fans

After a tough season with the English Premier League heavyweights, Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has arrived in Lagos, Nigeria.

The 21-year-old England international was born in London to Nigerian parents and has since visited the West African country.

Saka had his greatest season in the previous season, helping Arsenal finish second in the league.

In a video that has now gone viral on social media, the Arsenal player is greeted by a large crowd when he lands in Lagos for a visit.

Saka is anticipated to stay in Nigeria for a few weeks before returning to England for the UEFA Nations League and pre-season for the 2023/24 season.

Last season, the gifted winger was by far Arsenal’s greatest player, scoring 14 goals and contributing 11 assists in the English Premier League.

At the end of the season, he was rewarded with a new long-term contract.

Pep Guardiola Has Been Named Premier League Manager of the Year

Pep Guardiola has been elected Premier League Manager of the Season for 2022/23.
Guardiola has won the accolade four times in his seven seasons at the Etihad Stadium.

The Spanish coach beat out Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton, Unai Emery of Aston Villa, Eddie Howe of Newcastle United, and Marco Silva of Fulham to win the honor.

Guardiola led City to their third Premier League title in a row and fifth in six years, as well as berths in the FA Cup and Champions League finals.

Following a 12-game winning streak, City won the title with three matches to spare after trailing Arsenal for much of the season.

Guardiola also received the trophy after winning the league title in 2017/18, 2018/19, and 2020/21.

He is only the second manager in Premier League history, behind Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United, to have won more than three awards.

PSG Superstar Neymar Linked With A Move To Manchester City

Brazilian forward Neymar Jr has been linked with a summer transfer to Premier League champions, Manchester City.

According to L’Equipe, Guardiola contacted the 31-year-old to inquire about his plans in the upcoming transfer window.

Neymar’s current contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in 2027, although speculation is rife that he would join the Premier League.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked to him.

He is presently out with an injury sustained in Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-3 League triumph against Lille on February 19.

Neymar scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 20 French Ligue 1 games this season, earning him a spot on the French Ligue 1 squad of the season.

Super Falcons To Face Ethiopia Or Chad In Second Round Of 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifiers

In the second round of the 2024 Paris Olympic football qualifying, Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face either Ethiopia or Chad.

This was confirmed on Tuesday via the Ethiopia Football Federation’s Twitter account.

The qualifying draw took place on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt.

Ethiopia and Chad will meet in the first round, with the winner of two legs facing the Super Falcons in the second round.

The African qualifications will begin in July 2023 and end in April 2024. This will be done in four rounds of home and away matches.

Only two women’s teams will represent Africa in the Olympic football event in Paris.

The Super Falcons have missed the last three Olympic Games (2012, 2016, 2020).

Their previous appearance in the football event at the Olympics was in 2008, when they were eliminated in the group round in Beijing.
