Lampard Defends Fuming Chelsea Fans After Latest Defeat

Chelsea suffered their fifth consecutive defeat, losing 2-0 to Brentford on Wednesday, prompting frustrated fans to boo the team.

Cesar Azpilicueta’s own goal and Bryan Mbeumo’s late strike added to Chelsea's recent woes, with the team failing to score in six of their last seven games.

Manager Frank Lampard acknowledged that the supporters had the right to voice their displeasure, as the team languishes in 11th place in the Premier League.

Despite the turmoil, Lampard said that the players are committed to the cause, adding that they are young lads who want to do well. He defended the players while also acknowledging issues with confidence and the balance of the squad.

Chelsea's winless run stretches to eight games, with six of those matches played at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard is the caretaker boss until the end of the season, and reports suggest that Mauricio Pochettino is in line to be appointed as the next manager.

Bulgaria Triumphs Over Nigeria In The Opening Games Of The IHF Championship

In the opening games of the fourth International Handball Federation Emerging Nations Championship, Nigeria's under-24 male handball team suffered a defeat to the host nation, Bulgaria.

The game took place at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna, with the hosts claiming a 23-19 victory, marking their second win in the tournament after beating Azerbaijan.

Despite managing to stay close to the Bulgarians throughout the game and putting pressure on them, Nigeria, who were being coached by Solomon Yola, were unable to overturn the deficit.

At half-time, the score stood at 11-13 in favour of the hosts, and although the African team fought hard, Bulgaria proved to be the stronger side, winning by four points and maintaining their lead in Group D.

Nigeria will now look to bounce back in their next game against Azerbaijan, scheduled for Thursday. A win in that match will secure their spot in the tournament's placement matches.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria's two consecutive wins have secured their place in the semi-finals, where they will face Cuba, the top team in Group C, on Saturday. The tournament features a total of 12 teams, grouped into four, and is expected to conclude on Sunday.

Man City Hammer Arsenal To Move Two Points Off Top

At Etihad Stadium, Manchester City put on a remarkable display of skill to overwhelm the Premier League leaders, Arsenal, and dealt a significant psychological blow to their title aspirations.

The highly anticipated encounter, which was touted as a potential title-decider, turned into a disappointingly one-sided affair.

With two games in hand, Pep Guardiola's side, now just two points behind Arsenal, were spurred on by the devastating partnership of Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne.

In the seventh minute, Haaland sent De Bruyne through for a silky opener, and although Arsenal survived a constant barrage of attacks, they couldn't prevent John Stones from heading home from a free-kick in first-half stoppage time. The goal was initially ruled offside, but VAR intervened and confirmed the goal's validity.

Haaland was exceptional throughout the match and set up De Bruyne for the third goal in the 54th minute, with the Belgian passing a classy finish between the legs of Arsenal defender Rob Holding.

Although Holding scored a consolation goal for Arsenal late on, Haaland, who had been denied four times by Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale earlier in the match, sealed a memorable night with his 49th City goal.

City now have a chance to move to the top of the table with a victory at Fulham on Sunday, while Arsenal must somehow recover from a slump that has seen them go four league games without a win at a crucial stage of the season.

“I’m Unaware Of It” Hakimi’s Mother Reacts To Reports Her Son Transferred His Wealth To Her

Saida Mouh, the mother of Achraf Hakimi, a defender for PSG, has responded to reports circulating that her son transferred all his assets to her.

Earlier, an unverified report had spread that Hakimi's wife would receive nothing in their divorce because Hakimi had no assets in his name, with everything being in his mother's name.

In response, Hakimi's mother said that she was unaware of any action her son had taken to protect himself. She added that if it were true, there would be nothing wrong with her son taking such actions to protect himself.

"What's the problem if the news is true? If my son does not do this, he will not be able to get rid of that woman [Hiba Abouk]," said Hakimi's mother, as quoted by Morocco World News.
