Messi’s 2022 World Cup jerseys to sell for over ₦6 billion in special auction

The jerseys that Lionel Messi wore during the 2022 FIFA World Cup are up for auction until mid-December.

Lionel Messi, the legendary Argentine football player, is auctioning off his game jerseys from the victorious FIFA 2022 campaign, which saw the Albiceleste win the global championship for the first time since 1986.

Argentina’s captain, Lionel Messi, guided his team to victory in Qatar. The great player for Inter Miami is expected to make a ton of money from selling mementos from the historic World Cup victory.

Six of Messi’s World Cup 2022 jerseys have now been put up for sale. A bidding war is expected to rage until the middle of December over these invaluable pieces of football history.

The biggest bid currently being made for Messi’s jersey collection is reportedly $5.2 million.

Since Messi scored seven goals and won the Golden Ball as the World Cup’s best player, his jerseys are highly sought after. Messi is a former forward for Barcelona.

Because Messi has had so many successful years and is now one of the most well-liked players in the world, he was also one of the most marketable players at the event.

Messi won the 2023 Ballon d’Or, his eighth trophy overall and the most in history, after winning the 2022 World Cup.

Pay me my allowances, don’t tell me what to do – Peseiro fires back at NFF

Following criticism from NFF Technical Committee chairman Shariff Ahlan on the Super Eagles’ subpar recent performances, coach Jose Peseiro has responded.

In retaliation, Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to quit dictating to him how to perform his duties and to pay him his allowances.

Peseiro issued the remark in response to criticism from the NFF Technical Committee, chaired by Shariff Ahlan, regarding his teams’ recent underwhelming performances, particularly in the World Cup qualifying matches against Zimbabwe and Lesotho.

The Portuguese coach was named the Super Eagles’ head coach in 2022. In his 15 games in charge of the three-time African champions, he has six wins and the same number of losses.

The Super Eagles have conceded 21 goals while scoring 31 goals under Jose Peseiro’s direction—ten of which came in a single match against Sao Tome and Principe.

NFF Technical Committee Chairman Ahlan expressed dissatisfaction with the Super Eagles’ play under Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro and expressed a dire need to appoint a local coach in his place.

Jose Peseiro responded by telling Ahlan to stop attempting to control him and concentrate on more pressing issues, like paying the coach’s wage.

“You’re busy to pay me my allowances but not busy to tell me what I will do,” he replied

The former Sporting CP coach and Real Madrid assistant manager vowed to stick by his starting lineup for the upcoming matches.

Messi Unfollowed Man Utd’s Garnacho Because Of Ronaldo – Rio Ferdinand

Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has alleged that Lionel Messi of Inter Miami unfollowed Alejandro Garnacho on social media.

This revelation comes after Garnacho's remarkable overhead kick in Manchester United's recent Premier League triumph over Everton.

During a discussion on a YouTube show, Ferdinand disclosed, "My lad [Garnacho] said to me the other day Messi unfollowed him. He said Messi unfollowed him. Because he comes out, don’t care, ‘I’m a Ronaldo man’. Who’s the GOAT? Ronaldo. (Even) when he’."

Garnacho and Messi share the distinction of being international teammates with Argentina's senior team. The 19-year-old forward moved to Manchester United from Atletico Madrid in 2020.

The alleged unfollowing incident on social media adds an intriguing layer to the dynamics between the young talent and the seasoned Argentine star.
