The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) for the Lagos State Command.
The announcement was made on Monday afternoon by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani. Prior to this appointment, CP Jimoh served as the head of the Port Authority, Eastern Ports Command, Rivers State.
His selection followed an interview conducted on Monday morning by PSC Chairman, DIG (Rtd) Hashimu Argungu, along with retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje and DIG (Rtd) Taiwo Lakanu.
A seasoned police officer and former Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CP Jimoh hails from Kwara State and brings extensive experience in police operations, administration, and strategic communications.
His previous roles include Deputy Commissioner at the Airport Command, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of General Investigations.
CP Jimoh has undergone various professional training programs, including:
- Combat Operations Course at the Mobile Training College, Maiduguri
- African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan
- Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasure Training at the First Responder Training Institute, United States
- Social Construction and Management Training at the China Executive Leadership Academy, Pudong
- Maritime Rescue and Salvage Training at the China Maritime Academy, Ningbo
- Anti-Hijacking Techniques and Tactics Course at Yunnan Police College, Kunming, China
- Police Training at the Police Training Institute, Seoul, South Korea
In recognition of his contributions to public relations within law enforcement, CP Jimoh received the prestigious Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
His appointment is expected to bring enhanced leadership and strategic policing to the Lagos State Command.
