NAF Airstrikes Target and Eliminate Terrorists in Lake Chad

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted successful airstrikes targeting terrorist hideouts in Jubillaram, located in the Tumbuns area of Lake Chad.

According to a statement released on Monday by Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the operation was carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) on Saturday, delivering a decisive blow to terrorist elements in the region.

Jubillaram was identified as a hub for terrorist commanders and fighters, serving as a sanctuary and food storage site.

"Intelligence linked the terrorists in this location to recent attacks, including the assault on troops in Kareto on November 16, 2024," Akinboyewa stated.

In response, NAF fighter jets launched precision airstrikes, targeting key structures used for storage and neutralizing terrorists at the site. Mop-up operations using cannons eliminated fleeing elements to ensure the complete destruction of the enclave.

The operation’s success was attributed to thorough intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions conducted over several days, which confirmed the presence of active terrorist structures camouflaged within dense vegetation.

The airstrikes not only destroyed critical food storage facilities but also disrupted the terrorists’ logistical operations, significantly weakening their ability to stage future attacks.

“This mission underscores the NAF’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation and its people through independent and joint counterterrorism operations,” Akinboyewa added. “The NAF will continue these robust efforts until all threats to Nigeria’s prosperity and wellbeing are decisively neutralized.”
