Representatives of the Federal Government and the leadership of organized labour are set to meet again today on the implementation of the new N30,000 minimum wage and the consequential adjustment of salaries for civil servants.
Â
The meeting held yesterday had ended in a deadlock, with labour saying they have been patient enough, which means a nationwide strike as threatened, may be looming.
Â
Speaking on a monitored programme in Abuja, the Minister ofLabour and Employment, Dr. CHRIS NGIGE said the federal government has fulfilled the agreement on the N30,000 minimum wage but consequential adjustments are supposed to be bargained.
Â
He expressed hope that ongoing negotiations will be successful while appealing to members of the union to show some understanding with the financial constraints of the government.
