Femi Falana Alleges That Government Plans To Transfer Omoyele Sowore From Dss Custody To Prison.

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has alleged that the Federal Government had applied to the FCT High Court for an order to transfer his clients who were arrested for their call for the #RevolutionNow protest from the custody of the DSS to prison.

The #RevolutionNow protest convener, Omoyele Sowore, and his co-detainee, Adebayo Bakare, have been in the custody of the DSS since August despite the orders of the Federal High Court in Abuja for their release.

Falana, in a letter dated December 1, 2019 and addressed to the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, asked him to direct the DSS to release his clients.

He urged Malami to ensure compliance with court orders in the country the same way the federal government complied with that of the British courts on the P&ID case.

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar Knocks President Muhammadu Buhari, For The Nation’s Rising Debt.

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed worry over the rising debt profile of the country under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the Buhari government has taken more loans in the last three years, than the country did in the 30-year period preceding 2016.

According to him, this position was revealed by a former Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Economic Summit Group, Prof. Anya O. Anya.

He stated that it was worrisome how Nigeria had such a monumental increase in borrowings vis-à-vis an unprecedented reduction in investments in education.

Atiku spoke while delivering a speech at the 14th Founders’ day ceremony of the American University of Nigeria in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Spokesman of the party, Lanre Issa-Onilu said the purported legal action taken by a self-proclaimed member of the Party, Charles Enya, is illegal.

He said the Party had initially chosen to ignore him; but however saidit has become important to send a clear message to him and such other agent provocateurs.

You will recall that President Buhari at the last National Executive Committee meeting of the Party also dispelled rumor of his third term in office.
