Governor Sanwo-Olu Commiserates With Victims Of Abule-Egba Pipeline Explosion

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commiserated with families that lost their loved ones following a pipeline explosion that occurred at AbuleEgba on Sunday.

He also sympathised with those that lost property and other valuable items to the inferno.

Three people died in the pipeline explosion at Eroko road, AbuleEgba area, Lagos.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the explosion was as a result of a vandalised NNPC pipeline in AbuleEgba.

Governor Sanwo-Olu urged security agencies to ensure that those behind the unfortunate incident were brought to justice, saying the government would not fold its arms and allow unscrupulous elements in the society to continue to wreak havoc in the state.

Boko Haram Cuts Off Maiduguri From Nigeria’s Electricity Grid

Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, is without electricity after Boko Haram insurgents cut off power supply from the national electricity grid.

 

The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, confirmed in a statement that the insurgents had damaged the electricity equipment serving the state capital and its environs.

 

TCH spokesperson Ndidi Mbah, said the agency was making efforts to restore electricity supply in the area as soon as possible.

 

Reports indicate that the insurgents have carried out a series of attacks on villages located along a major road, Damaturu-Maiduguri, in the last one month.

Imo Governor Uzodinma Alleges That PDP Plans To Cause Anarchy.

Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of planning to cause anarchy in the state.

Uzodinma said this while he decrying the nationwide protest organised by the PDP, rejecting the Supreme Court judgement that declared him the governor of the state.

The governor called on President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the PDP over protest.

The apex court in a controversial circumstance last Tuesday sacked Emeka Ihedioha for Uzodinma, who finished in distant fourth in the March 9, 2019 governorship election.

However, during the rally, Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP in 2019, Peter Obi and national chairman of the party, Uche Sekondus wants the Supreme Court to reverse her decision on Imo.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Jibrin Okutekpa, however says taking to the streets is not the way to get the attention of the Supreme Court.

Former Attorney General, Adoke Bello To Be Arraigned In Court Today

The Federal Government has filed a fresh 42-count charge against former Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke and six others over alleged fraud in the $1.1 billion Malabu oil deal.

 

Adoke, to be arraigned today, is being charged alongside Rasky Gbinigie, A. Abubakar, Malabu Oil and Gas Limited, Nigeria Agip Exploration Limited, Shell Ultra Deep Limited and Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Limited.

 

The Federal Government, in a document filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, accused Adoke and others of receiving gratification to allegedly carry out a fraudulent oil deal.

 

According to the FG, as Attorney-General, Adoke mediated controversial agreements that ceded OPL 245 to Shell and Eni who in turn paid about $1.1 billion dollars to accounts controlled by former Petroleum Minister, Dan Etete, who is now at large.
