The Northern Elders Forum, NEF has said it warned Nigerians of President Muhammadu Buhari’s inability to secure the country ahead of the 2019 general election.

 

Convener of the forum, Ango Abdullahi said despite the obvious poor state of insecurity President Buhari is still in deep denial over the result of his failures to secure Nigerians.

 

Abdullahi urged President Buhari to overhaul the leaders if the country’s security and public safety agencies, saying the agencies need higher levels of integrity, competence and accountability.

 

US President Donald Trump has taken a victory lap one day after his impeachment acquittal, in a tirade against his political enemies.

 

He insists that he has done nothing wrong to warrant impeachment in the first instance.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has deregistered 74 political parties out of the country’s 92 parties.

 

With this decision, political parties including; Fresh Party, National Conscience Party and Kowa Party no longer exist in the country.

 

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu made the declaration at a press conference yesterday in Abuja.

 

But one of political parties affected, the KOWA Party described the action of INEC as illegal since they met all conditions of registering a political party in Nigeria.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has launched three new acquired combat helicopters.

 

The combat helicopters include two Augusta 109 and one Mi-171E combat helicopters.

 

The unveiling of the aircraft took place during the induction ceremony of the Nigerian Air Force.
