Former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi Resigns From PDP

In a shocking twist of events, a 2023 presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The letter conveying his resignation from the party was submitted to the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu by the Director General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr. Doyin Okupe.

The action, according to Okupe, was because of current happenings within the main opposition party, which he said do not give OBI the space to fully express himself.

Obi, a former Anambra Governor, was until his resignation one of the 15 aspirants vying for the presidential ticket of the PDP.

PDP Chieftain, Chief Bode George said he was shocked about OBI’s resignation.

Since then, monkeypox has been reported in many central and western African countries like Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, Liberia, and many others.

Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headaches, swellings, back pain, and aching muscles.

The rash is usually around the face, palms and feet and are quite painful and itchy. They also cause scars and wounds on the body.

Monkeypox isn’t deadly, after the right treatment, it clears up within 14 to 21 days. Although, in Africa, its fatality rate is 1 to 10.

According to the UK Health Security Agency, a notable proportion of the virus has been found among gay and bisexual men.

Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, a popular Nigerian singer, rapper, and performing artist, has confirmed the 2nd of July 2022 as the release date for his sixth studio album titled 'Love, Damini.' 

The African Giant, who hinted at the new release date in an interview with Trevor Noah's The Daily Show earlier this week, has finally confirmed that his album will be released in July.

'Love, Damini' will be released in three months.
