The leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, and other regional leaders have endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu received their blessing during a meeting with the leaders of the organisation at Pa Fasoranti’s residence in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The APC standard bearer also presented his 80-page Action Plan at the visit which had prominent Yoruba leaders in attendance. They include Archbishop Ayo Ladigbola, Professor Isaac Adewole, Chief Olu Falae, and Dr Kunle Olajide among others.
AE expressed hope that Tinubu will win the election.
Reacting to his endorsement, Tinubu, who said he was confused during the primary, appreciated the support of the group.
However, some members of the group, including Pa Ayo Adebanjo, and the Secretary-General Chief Sola Ebiseni, were absent at the meeting.
Pa Adebanjo had earlier declared support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, insisting that the South-East deserved the number one seat.
Inspiration FM asked the National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Jare Ajayi, where the group stands considering the opposing views of their leaders.
Ajayi said the two leaders are entitled to their choices.
