West Ham Record Signing Haller Close To Ajax Move

West Ham's club-record signing Sebastien Haller is on the brink of joining Dutch side Ajax.

The Hammers spent £45m on the striker in 2019.

He was one of a number of expensive signings made by former manager Manuel Pellegrini who did not perform to the levels anticipated.

Pellegrini was sacked in December 2019 and David Moyes eventually steered the club away from relegation trouble.

Although Haller has played recently in the absence of Michail Antonio, West Ham are happy to accept a fee of around 22.5m euros (£20.35m) for the 26-year-old, who made his debut for the Ivory Coast in November.

Man Utd Complete Signing Of Winger Amad Diallo

Manchester United has finalized the £19m signing of Ivory Coast winger Amad Diallo from the Italian side Atalanta.

The deal for the 18-year-old includes a further £18.2m in add-ons and he has signed a contract until June 2025, with the option of an extra year.

United agreed on a deal to sign Diallo in October.

"Having watched him myself, I believe he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game," said Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"It will take time for him to adapt but his speed, vision and fantastic dribbling ability will stand him in good stead to make the transition.

"He is a player with all of the raw attributes that are needed to be an important player for Manchester United in the years to come."

Diallo is the first player to be signed and registered under post-Brexit rules. The paperwork over his move was submitted just after midnight on New Year's Day and was approved the same day.

He needed governing body exemption before he could apply for a UK visa, which he did in Rome earlier this week.

Diallo will fly to England once it is approved and will not have to quarantine as he was part of Atalanta's 'bubble'.

Officials Of The NIMC Accuses The Federal Government Of Covering Up Covid-19 Cases Among Staff.

The federal government has been accused of covering up COVID-19 cases among the officials of the National Identity Management Commission. This comes as officials of the commission across the country yesterday began a strike action over the fear of COVID-19 spread in the agency.

President of the Association of the Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, NIMC unit, ASEKOKHAI LUCKY, in an interview in Abuja, said already the virus had been detected in three officials of the agency at its headquarters.

He said the workers were annoyed because the management of the commission was aware of the development but kept it from workers, who could have taken necessary precautions to protect themselves.

LUCKY also said the workers would meet with government officials today to discuss the COVID-19 scare and other issues including delays in  promotion and poor salaries that led to the strike. Following the strike embarked upon by the workers, people who trooped to the NIMC offices across the country were stranded as there was nobody to attend to them.
