Nick Cannon Expresses Desire for 13th Child, This Time with Taylor Swift

During an appearance on 'The Howard Stern Show' on April 10, 2023, singer and media personality Nick Cannon revealed his desire to have a child with Taylor Swift.

While he stated that he currently has no immediate plans to expand his large family, he expressed openness to the idea if Swift was interested.

Cannon spoke highly of the singer, praising her songwriting abilities and her willingness to share her personal experiences in her music.

He noted their shared experiences of having their romantic lives in the public eye, adding that he believes they would understand each other well.

With news of Taylor's recent split, Cannon jokingly remarked that his "Spidey senses" were tingling, and that the idea of having a child with her would be incredible.

However, it's worth noting that Cannon has already fathered twelve children since 2011: Monroe, Moroccan, Golden, Powerful, Zion, Zillion, Zen, Legendary, Onyx, Rise, Beautiful Zeppelin, and Halo.

Obasanjo Writes British Court, Seeks Leniency For Ekweremadu

First up, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has written to the United Kingdom court that found former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, his wife, Beatrice, and a doctor, Obinna Obeta, guilty of organ trafficking.

In June 2022, Ekweremadu and his wife were arrested and charged in court for allegedly bringing a child to the UK for organ harvesting. The senator has been remanded in custody since then, but his wife was granted bail in July.

In a letter dated April 3, 2023, and addressed to the chief clerk of central criminal court, Old Bailey, Obasanjo said though Ekweremadu’s action is “unpleasant and condemnable and can’t be tolerated in any sane or civilized society”, the court should temper justice with mercy for the sake of their sick daughter.

Ekweremadu is at risk of being sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 of the United Kingdom.

The letter further said the Ekweremadus have learnt from the distressing experience, and urged the court and the UK government to show clemency.

The former president also extolled the virtues, achievements, service and charitable deeds of the senator before his travails.

Reacting to this in an interview with inspiration FM, Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law, Nba-Spidel, Dr. Monday Ubani commended Obasanjo while saying that it is a noble act.

Wole Soyinka Criticizes Baba-Ahmed for Controversial Remarks

Renowned Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has condemned the recent controversial statement made by Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party.

Baba-Ahmed had stated that the swearing-in of President-elect Bola Tinubu could mean the end of democracy in Nigeria.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV on April 5, 2023, Soyinka described Baba-Ahmed's comments as unbecoming and stated that he had never heard such language used for blackmail.

Soyinka further noted that Baba-Ahmed's do-or-die provocation is not what the people of Nigeria have been struggling for, and it goes against the principles of democracy. He added that he had never heard such blackmailing language before.

Baba-Ahmed's statement has sparked controversy in Nigeria, with some of Tinubu's supporters calling for his arrest.

The ongoing conversation surrounding the upcoming inauguration of Bola Tinubu as the country's president-elect continues to attract attention.

Orji Kalu Receives Condolences From Ohanaeze Following Wife’s Passing

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has expressed its condolences to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over the passing of his wife, Dr. Ifeoma Uzor Kalu.

The former Abia State Governor announced her death in a statement, stating that she passed away in the United States of America at the age of 61.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, Ohanaeze Ndigbo mourned her passing and described her as a kind-hearted, disciplined, diligent, brilliant, wholesome and virtuous woman of substance.

Dr. Ifeoma was also a physician whose skills and expertise found full expression in the United States of America.

The statement expressed pain that death struck at a time when Dr. Ifeoma should have enjoyed the rewards of her services to humanity. It also noted that she would be forever missed for her beauty, charm, warmth, care, passion, and the invaluable services she rendered to humanity while alive.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo also extended its condolences to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the children, and the extended family, sharing the moment of grief with them.

The organization prayed that the soul of Dr. Ifeoma Uzor Kalu would rest in the bosom of the Almighty.
