Maria Benjamin: My Struggle with Self-Discovery Before Big Brother Naija

A media personality, Naomi Chima recently interviewed Maria Benjamin, a former Big Brother Naija reality TV star, about her talk show "Healing with Maria." Maria expressed excitement about the show's recent premiere.

Naomi asked about Maria's financial stability before Big Brother and what motivated her to participate in the show. Maria revealed that she was struggling to find her career path and had not achieved her goals and dreams. Financially, she was okay, but not well-off. She saw Big Brother as an opportunity to achieve her goals and dreams.

When asked about her experiences in the Big Brother house, Maria shared that it was challenging for her to live with so many strangers. However, she learned to be more accommodating and understanding of others' opinions.

After the show, Maria pursued acting and has two movies in post-production. Although she does not plan to act full-time, she will take on roles and opportunities that come her way.

Maria's talk show, "Healing with Maria," was inspired by a personal experience involving drug abuse and domestic violence in her family. She wanted to raise awareness and help those struggling with these issues.

Maria also addressed rumors about her going after married men and her relationship status. She stated that she is not single and has been in a healthy, long-term relationship.

Finally, Maria talked about her experiences as an air hostess. Although it was challenging, she enjoyed traveling and experiencing different cultures. However, she missed out on many personal events due to work obligations.

Zelensky Invites Tinubu To Ukraine On State Visit

The recent presidential election in Nigeria has garnered attention from world leaders, with Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, congratulating the newly elected President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Despite the controversy surrounding the election, Tinubu emerged victorious with 8,794,726 votes, defeating his opponents from the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party.

Zelensky's message not only praised Tinubu for his win but also expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. In addition, he extended an invitation for Tinubu to visit Ukraine on a state visit after his inauguration on May 29th.

Despite the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the country remains committed to building diplomatic relations with Nigeria and other nations.

His letter read, “Please accept my sincere congratulations on your election as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Despite extremely difficult testing times, caused by the full-scale armed aggression of Russia against our state, Ukraine is determined to further strengthen cooperation with Nigeria at the bilateral level and within the framework of international organizations.

“We are grateful for your country’s support of the Resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization “Principles of the UN Charter underlying a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace in Ukraine.

“I count on the active participation of Nigeria in its practical implementation. We see the further provision of global food security, of which Ukraine was and remains a reliable guarantor at the global level, as an important direction of cooperation.

“The fulfilment of this task will be facilitated by the successful implementation of the Ukrainian initiative “Grain from Ukraine”, which is designed to significantly increase the supply of grain to African countries in order to prevent famine.

“Taking this opportunity, I invite you to pay an official visit to Ukraine at a time convenient for you.

“I am confident that your visit will strengthen the dialogue between our countries and contribute to further consolidation of joint efforts of the international community aimed at solving the urgent challenges of today, in particular the crisis situation caused by Russia regarding the guarantee of world food security.”

April 20, 2023 Nadal Pulls Out Of Madrid, May Miss French Open

Nadal Pulls Out Of Madrid, May Miss French Open

Rafael Nadal said on Thursday he will miss the Madrid Masters tournament later this month as he continues his recovery from a hip injury, a significant blow to his French Open preparations.

For the moment I’ve missed Monte Carlo and Barcelona. And unfortunately, I won’t be able to be in Madrid either,” Nadal said on Instagram.

“The injury still hasn’t healed,” he added.

The 36-year-old Spaniard has not played since losing in the second round of the Australian Open in January.

Nadal is hoping for a record-extending 15th French Open title at Roland Garros in May, but his hip flexor problem he suffered in Melbourne has badly disrupted his run-up to the tournament.

The 22-time Grand Slam singles champion — he shares the men’s record with Novak Djokovic — had originally thought he would be out for up to two months.

He pulled out of hard-court tournaments at Indian Wells and Miami, with his sights set on a return at the start of the clay-court season, but it did not come to fruition.

“In principle, it was supposed to be a recovery period of six to eight weeks and now we’re around 14,” added Nadal.

“The reality is that the situation is not what we would have hoped for. All medical indications have been followed, but the healing has not gone as they told us initially.”

Nadal said he and his team have decided to try a different treatment and see if things improve, but that he was not setting a deadline for his comeback.

His fitness problems have become an increasing issue since he won his 14th French Open crown last year.

At Wimbledon last summer he was forced to withdraw from his semi-final because of an abdominal injury.

The French Open starts on May 28.

Chelsea Needs Strategy In Difficult Moments- Silva

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has voiced his concerns about the club's future and has called for a "strategy" to be put in place to avoid another difficult season.

The club's 11th place finish in the Premier League this season and failure to win a trophy has raised questions about the effectiveness of their £550m investment in new players.

Despite the lavish spending, Chelsea have sacked two managers and currently have an interim boss.

Silva has pointed out that it's difficult for the manager to choose only 11 players out of a squad of 30 and that the team needs to stop and plan for the future to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

Silva also highlighted that there are amazing players within the squad, but there will always be players who are unhappy.

"It's a difficult moment for the club, with a lot of indecision," added 38-year-old Silva.

"We had to increase the size of the changing rooms because it didn't fit the size of the team.

"A positive point is that there are amazing players within the squad, but on the other hand there is always players that are going to be unhappy.

"We need to stop and put a strategy in place, otherwise next season we could make the same mistakes."
