#Endsars: Armed policemen drafted to the Lekki toll gate as state police command vows not to allow any second wave of protests

Armed policemen have been drafted to the Toll Gate on Lekki-Epe Expressway.

This may not be unconnected with the alleged return of EndSARS protesters to the area.

You will recall that the Toll gate was the epic centre of the last EndSARS protest in Lagos state which later turned violent after being hijacked by hoodlums.

The Lagos State Police Command has therefore warned against any gathering, procession or protest today in the metropolis saying it has uncovered plans by some unpatriotic individuals to embark on the replica of the recent EndSARS protest.

Spokesman of the Command, MUYIWA ADEJOBI in a statement said they have reliably gathered that certain individuals/groups have concluded plans to lure unsuspecting youths, into their planned protest at designated locations in the state.

The Command also warned parents and guardians to discourage their children and wards from being lured into any act, gathering or protest capable of causing break down of law and order and violence in the state.

In an interview with Inspiration fm, a lawyer to EndSARS protesters, ADESHINA OGUNLANA said Nigerians have the rights under the constitution to protest.

Asa describes how she likes her man

Asa says she loves tall guys because of her parents combination and their height.

She further said her parents were opposite of what she wants, Asa inferred thet she was not happy about her parents’ heights.

Award-winning singer and songwriter, Bukola Elemide, popularly known as Asa, says if she ever gets married, she’ll like to have a tall guy because she didn’t like the fact that her parents were short.

The international music star said this in a recent interview with Bolanle Olukanni for Ndani TV’s show, The Juice

Asa said, “I am crazy for tall guys. They could be dark. If you are dark, be very dark. Then, it takes me time to think, ‘Does he have a brain?’ If my future man is short, if I ever get married, I won’t complain. I do hope he is not short, because my parents were short and I wasn’t happy about that.”

She also said she was wary of her voice when she started her music career, adding that when she dropped her first album, she didn’t know it would be that big.

She said, “I just never trusted people; maybe it was (because) my father told me all the time that ‘you can’t trust people’. I think people just didn’t get me. When I started performing publicly, I didn’t come out as a singer. I came out as a dancer. That thing was inside me saying, ‘Why is your voice like this? Why do you sound like this? Why do you walk like this? Who do you think you are’?

Asa also said that patriarchy made it hard for women to succeed in the Nigerian music industry.

She, however, said she was glad that a lot of women were coming out and doing well with their careers.
