The new infections, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control's latest figures showed, were confirmed in 14 and the Federal Capital Territory, taking the total cases to 89,163.

Niger's prime minister says 100 people are now known to have been killed in Saturday's attacks by suspected jihadists on two villages.
BRIGI RAFINI said 70 people were killed in the village of Tchombangou and 30 others in Zaroumdareye - both near Niger's border with Mali.
It was one of the deadliest days in living memory, as Niger grapples with ethnic violence and Islamic militancy.
According to local mayor ALMOU HASSANE, those behind the act travelled on about 100 motorcycles, split into two groups and carried out the attacks simultaneously.
Former minister Issoufou Issaka told AFP that jihadists launched the assaults after villagers killed two of their group members, though this hasn't been officially confirmed.
Mayor Hassane said 75 other villagers were left wounded in the aftermath, and some have been evacuated for treatment in Ouallam and the capital, Niamey.
Prime Minister Rafini visited both of the villages on Sunday.
"This situation is simply horrible... but investigations will be conducted so that this crime does not go unpunished," he told reporters.
Niger's Tillabéri region lies within the so-called tri-border area between Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso, which has been plagued by jihadist attacks for many years.

The Federal Government has suspended workers fingered in extortion at enrolment centres of the National Identity Management Commission.
It was gathered that the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, ISA PANTAMI, ordered the immediate suspension of the staff members involved in extortion of applicants at the NIMC Bauchi and Kaduna state offices.
The NIMC said the directive came on the heels of public outcry that some personnel of commission, particularly at enrolment centres in Bauchi and Kaduna were capitalising on the rush for National Identification Number by the public to perpetrate fraudulent activities.
A spokesperson for the commission, KAYODE ADEGOKE, said in a statement issued in Abuja that the act was inimical to the policy directive of the Federal Government, which required mobile network subscribers to update their Subscriber Identification Module registration with a valid NIN.
He insists the Minister PANTAMI, restated his zero-tolerance stance on extortion, bribery and corruption.
At least 19 people have been killed in fresh and reprisal attacks in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The killings and counter-killings occurred at Kaya community which shares a boundary with Hayin Kaura village in Dandume area of Katsina State.
Kaduna state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, SAMUEL ARUWAN, confirmed the killings in a statement he disclosed that gunmen, numbering about 50 and armed with AK-47 rifles, stormed Kaya town and began shooting sporadically.
According to security reports, the violence began on Friday last week when bandits attacked Kaya town and kidnapped some locals, including two married women.
