Federal Government Has No Plan To Impose Another COVID-19 Lockdown- Lai Mohammed

The Federal Government has no plans to impose another COVID-19 lockdown even as the country is experiencing a second wave of the pandemic.

This was revealed by the minister of the information and culture, Alhaji LAI MOHAMMED, while addressing the press in Lagos.

MOHAMMED said the government is taking this decision because the economic and social implications will be difficult.

LAI MOHAMMED also condemned the predictions by several groups, saying Nigeria would not become a failed state but would rise to become a more respected member of the comity of nations.

Lagos Orders Schools To Resume January 18

The Lagos State Government has ordered all public and private schools in the state to reopen for the second term of 2020/21 academic session from Monday, January 18, 2021.

Commissioner for Education, Mrs FOLASADE ADEFISAYO, announced this in a statement by the Head, Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, KAYODE ABAYOMI.

In the statement titled, ‘All public and private schools in Lagos State to resume 18th January 2021’, schools were also asked to make virtual learning available.

She said this was in line with the Federal Government’s directive coupled with the second wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The statement also said all schools to make efforts to comply with all the outlined COVID-19 requirements for resumption of schools.

The Bucks now have four wins but lie in 7th place in the current standings, while the Philadelphia 76ers lead the Eastern Conference on six wins and one loss.

The Bucks would be looking to continue their winning streak as they face the Pistons in the return fixture on Thursday.

Apc Chieftain Olusegun Osoba Says Bola Tinubu Has The Right To Contest For President In 2023

Former Lagos state governor, BOLA TINUBU, has the constitutional right to contest for president in 2023 according to a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, OLUSEGUN OSOBA.

He said TINUBU as an individual has the right to put himself forward, but insists that the party has not zeroed in on any individual.

OSOBA, who is also a former governor of Ogun State, on a televised programme today believes BOLA TINUBU has a right to pursue his own agenda.

He said the South-West must unite and put its home in order to achieve success in the next presidential election.

According to him, there is a gentleman's agreement in the APC that the South will produce Nigeria's president in 2023.

However, the man in the eyes of the storm, BOLA TINUBU is yet to officially declare his intention to run for the number seat come 2023.
