FIFA announces venues for Qatar 2020 Club World Cup

World soccer governing body, FIFA has announced Education City, Ahmad Bin Ali, and Khalifa International stadiums as venues for the 2020 Club World Cup in Qatar.

The tournament which was earlier scheduled for 2020 but postponed due to COVID-19 will hold from February 1 to 11, 2021.

The match in the opening ceremony will be played on February 1 at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium which was inaugurated on December 18.

Qatari champions Al Duhail will face Auckland City of New Zealand in the opening game.

Education City Stadium will host the final of the tournament which brings teams from six continental confederations.

The teams in the tournament include Bayern Munich, Ulsan Hyundai, Al Ahly, UANL, Auckland City, and Al-Duhail.

Education City stadium which was unveiled in June 2020 will host the final of the tournament on February 11.

Protection from COVID-19 will be provided by the host country all through the tournament.

Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has advised supporter groups to shun politics of bitterness and violence and to desist from insulting any of his critics or opponents.

Fintiri gave the advice during an interactive session with socio-political groups and their roles in good governance and state building held on Thursday in Yola.

His representative, Mr Dogo Victor, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Social Mobilisation, said Gov. Fintiri assumed power with the mission and vision to bring change and development to the people of Adamawa.

“The importance and role of socio-political groups in ensuring good governance and state building cannot be overemphasised.

“You should remember that it is not winning the election that matters, but the actions and inactions we express in bringing change and development to our people.

“You have to understand that there are selfish interests opposition that believe no-one else should achieve great things like we are doing all over the state.

“Therefore, never insult the opposition, because one day our good action may bring them into our progressive train,’’ he said.

He advised the support groups to always speak on various developmental achievements so far recorded by the Fintiri administration to help to change the opposition’s narrations and criticisms.

American rapper Radric Delantic Davis also known as Gucci mane has welcomes his first child with his wife, Keyshia Ka'oir.

The music star took to his Instagram page on Thursday, December 24, 2020, where he announced the good news.

"My wife just gave me a 7lb 1 oz baby boy his name ICE DAVIS 12/23/20 thank you MrsDavis ❤️🏹🥶 he’s here!!!!!!!" he wrote.

Gucci mane's famous friends were quick to congratulate him on the arrival of his baby.

"CONGRATS," rapper Da baby wrote.

Congratulations to Gucci mane and his wife, Keyshai, on the arrival of their son.

The couple got married in 2017.

Gucci mane had proposed to Ka'oir after performing at an Atlanta Hawks basketball game.

The rapper already has a 12-year-old son while Keyshia has two daughters and a son from a previous relationship.

Alleged Plan To Run Smear Campaign Against President Buhari

The Presidency is worried over ongoing alleged plan to launch "a smear campaign" against President, MUHAMMADU BUHARI.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA, claimed that the plan of the sponsors, who he described as "disgruntled political elements", is to portray BUHARI as not being in charge of the country through cooked-up media stories, especially online.

He made the claim in a statement titled, 'Smear campaign alert against the President'.

The presidential aide, therefore, called on Nigerians to be discerning in what they consume as news and special reports from such online media.
