March 10, 2021 Piers Morgan Is Steps Down From The “Good Morning Britain” Show

Piers Morgan Is Steps Down From The “Good Morning Britain” Show

Piers Morgan has resigned from his role as host of “Good Morning Britain“, ITV confirms.

The media company said in a statement, “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

ITV announced after Ofcom revealed it was looking into the comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, after getting 41,000 complaints. An Ofcom spokesperson said: “We have launched an investigation into Monday’s episode of Good Morning Britain under our harm and offence rules.”

In their interview, Prince Harry and Meghan, who are now living in the United States, revealed a variety of details, including an accusation that a member of the royal family, made a racist remark about their son, Archie. Meghan opened up about her mental health during the interview, telling Oprah Winfrey she had suicidal thoughts and begged to go somewhere for treatment but was told it would not look positive by one of the most senior Royal officials.

Morgan, though, said he “didn’t believe a word” of it on Monday’s “Good Morning Britain”.

Morgan also stormed off the set of ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Tuesday after a spat with co-host Alex Beresford over Oprah’s interview with Meghan and Prince Harry.

Alex Beresford defended the couple, saying that Morgan was to blame; “I understand you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle, or had one, and she cut you off. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has but yet you continue to trash her.

Morgan then stood up and said: “OK, I’m done with this” and walked off set, saying: “Sorry, no… sorry, can’t do this…” as he stormed off set as Beresford called his actions “diabolical behaviour”.

March 9, 2021 UK Promises To Return To Nigeria £4.2m Stolen By James Ibori

UK Promises To Return To Nigeria £4.2m Stolen By James Ibori

Former Delta State Governor James Ibori was convicted of money laundering in the UK in 2012.

He is thought to have stolen around £50m from the oil-rich state.

This is the first time that money recovered from criminals will be returned to Nigeria since an agreement was signed in 2016, the UK authorities say.

The UK and Nigerian governments signed an agreement on Tuesday that the £4.2m recovered by UK agencies would be sent back to Nigeria for infrastructure projects, including the Lagos to Ibadan Expressway, the Abuja to Kano road and the second Niger Bridge.

Ibori was governor of Delta state from 1999-2007. On February 27th, 2012, Ibori pleaded guilty to 10 counts of money laundering, fraud, conspiracy to defraud, and other offenses in a London court. He also pleaded guilty to stealing over $250 million public funds while he was governor.

But he was put in immigration detention and he sued the Home Office for unlawful detention.

A Home Office email, published in the court judgement, recommended to keep him in immigration detention to buy time to work out how to recover at least £57m.

Joe Biden’s Dogs Moved Out Of White House After Biting Security Agent

US First Family, Joe and Jill Biden's German shepherds have been removed from the White House after the younger dog, Major, reportedly bit a security agent.

According to reports, the pets have been sent back to the Biden family home in Wilmington, Delaware.

It follows reports Major, a dog not usually used to public life, started exhibiting aggressive behaviour towards White House staff.

The Bidens adopted three-year-old Major in 2018. He is officially the first dog from an animal shelter to live in the White House.

Their other dog, Champ, is 13 years old.

Reports from US media say Major had been jumping, barking and charging at White House staff and security since he entered the White House.

Last month, Jill Biden told The Kelly Clarkson Show that she was focused on getting the dogs settled.

"They have to take the elevator, they're not used to that, and they have to go out on the South Lawn with lots of people watching them. So that's what I've been obsessed with, getting everybody settled and calm," she said.

Even though Donald Trump was the first president in more than 100 years not to have a dog, the White House has a long history with pets.

Former US President Lyndon B Johnson also had a rescue dog - a terrier mix named Yuki.
