EFCC Summons Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan Over Officer Bribery Allegations

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into bribery allegations made against some EFCC officers by controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

In a video shared by blogger Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, who is an ex-convict, accused certain unnamed EFCC officers of collecting ₦15 million from him in exchange for dropping money laundering charges against him.

On Tuesday, EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale released a statement confirming that the commission's leadership has formed a special investigative team to look into the allegations.

“To this end, the Commission invites both Okuneye and Otse (VeryDarkMan) to appear at its Lagos Directorate to assist in the investigation of the alleged bribery,” the statement read.

The EFCC reassured the public that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated, with the findings made public upon conclusion.

It is worth noting that Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison in April for violating Nigerian currency laws, following his conviction for abusing the naira.

Ali Baba to Women: “Encourage Your Man to Quit His Job if You Earn More”

Veteran comedian Ali Baba has criticized men who pressure their partners to quit their jobs simply because they earn more. Reacting to a viral story of a man who forced his wife to resign due to her higher salary, Ali Baba questioned the authenticity of the story and condemned such behavior.

In a post on his Instagram, the comedian argued that men who tie their self-worth to financial status become insecure when their partners are more successful. Instead of asking their wives to quit, he suggested that these men should be the ones to step down if they can’t handle their partner’s success.

He said, "Who are these women falling for such lies? If you earn more than your man, let him quit his job. Nonsense! Who are these lazy men pushing these absurd narratives?"

Ali Baba added, "If a woman is earning N10 million a month and her husband earns N1.5 million, how does it make sense for her to resign? That means the man’s confidence is solely based on his finances. Insecurities, my foot. Would Stedman tell Oprah Winfrey to quit? Men should be driven to improve themselves, not diminish their partners' success."

Cab Driver Threatens Legal Action After Adunni Ade Accuses Him of Package Theft

Francis Njoku, an Indrive cab driver accused of stealing a package, has threatened to sue actress Adunni Ade over the incident. The dispute arose after Njoku allegedly refused to deliver Ade's package, ending the trip early.

On Wednesday, Adunni Ade called out the ride-hailing service on Instagram, claiming the driver had taken off with her package and was ignoring her calls. She posted, "@indrive.ng I have contacted you for hours but no response. One of your drivers has stolen my package. He ended the trip before getting to me and not picking up calls."

Her post drew widespread criticism, with many users condemning the company. In a follow-up post, Ade shared that Njoku eventually delivered the package after the company locked his profile. She also posted screenshots of her conversations with Njoku and her fashion designer, who had sent the package.

In the shared messages, Njoku expressed frustration at Ade's accusations and threatened legal action, stating, "You have tarnished my image. My legal team is involved, and we will see you in court. You must issue an unreserved apology and have Instablog remove the post."

In response, Adunni Ade stood by her claims, saying, "I don’t lie or cheat. If we want change, it should begin with us. In all my years of using logistics services, I have never encountered someone as rude, arrogant, and entitled as Francis Njoku."

BBNaija Star Phyna’s New Post About Men Sparks Controversy

Big Brother Naija star Phyna has stirred up a fresh wave of controversy on social media with her latest post about men and their relationships with women. On September 18, 2024, the reality star took to X (formerly Twitter) to address a common complaint from men about women's expectations in relationships.

She wrote, "Enough of men complaining that ladies are always asking for what their father cannot give them. But they have forgotten the ladies also give them what their mother can't give them."

The post quickly gained attention, sparking mixed reactions from social media users. While some agreed with her take on the transactional nature of relationships, others criticized her, leading to heated exchanges. One user commented, "Warey you nor Kuku get father love before," prompting Phyna to clap back, "As you don know why you still dy talk am now after 10000 years… your mumu too much abeg."

Another commented, "The fact is that no one should feel entitled. As a man, you should take good care of your girlfriend or wife, but if you don’t have it, explain yourself. No need to kill yourself for anyone; do as your power reach."
