Here Is The Complete List Of Winners At The 14th Headies

Following in the footsteps of the 2019 nominations, the 2020 Headies are incredibly inclusive.

On February 21, 2021, Nigeria's premier music award show held via virtual and live media due to COVID-19 restrictions.

A lot of the show had been pre-recorded and the live event, featuring nominees held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The red carpet began at 5pm while the main event belatedly commenced around 9:50 pm.

The year-in-review is between July 2019 and September 2020. It will be the 14th edition of an award heralded by Ayo Animashaun and his company, HipHop World. Fireboy led the way with five wins including Album of The Year for his sophomore album, Apollo while Wizkidwon two awards including Artist of The Year.

he show was attended by a lot of Nigerian celebrities like Wizkid, 2baba, Sound Sultan, Fireboy, Idia Aisien, AY, AQ, iLLBliss, Bad Boy Timz, Omah Lay, Mayorkun and more while Davido, Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage weren't seen amongst the crowd.

This year saw winners in new categories; Songwriter of The Year and Best Alternative Album. The hosts were Bovi and Nancy Isime.

There is no segmentation of nominations to just the superstars.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Resign From All Royal Duties

British royals Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have officially resigned from all royal duties.

According to a statement released by the Buckingham Palace on Friday, February 19, 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will no longer serve as working members of the royal family.

“Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service,” the statement read.

It also stated that the couple’s honorary military appointments and royal patronages would be returned to Queen Elizabeth II to be redistributed.

“While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family,” the statement concluded.

Harry and Meghan are expecting a baby shocked the world in January 2020, when they announced that they would be stepping back as senior members of the royal family. 

The couple announced the shocking news via their official Instagram page on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married in 2018 at a star-studded wedding held in England.

Driver Who Allegedly Killed Nicki Minaj’s Father Robert Maraj Turns Himself In To Police

The hit-and-run driver who allegedly killed Nicki Minaj's father, Robert Maraj has turned himself in to the police.

The 70-year-old man, Charles Polevich, turned himself in on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

The hit-and-run driver is alleged to have fled the scene without calling the emergency number, 911.

According to court documents obtained by PageSix, Polevich allegedly got out of his car, stood over the injured man and asked if he was okay before fleeing.

The report says he fled the scene of the accident without calling the emergency number, 911.

Nassau County Police Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick, the commanding officer of the homicide squad, described the incident in greater detail during a press conference Wednesday.

“He got out of the car and he looked at the deceased and got into the car and made the conscious decision to leave. Instead of dialing 911 or calling an ambulance, he went home and secreted his vehicle," Fitzpatrick said.

Polevich was arraigned in Nassau County District Court on charges of leaving the scene of an incident causing death and tampering with physical evidence.

It would be recalled that the news of the rapper's father's death broke last Sunday.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 869 new cases of coronavirus and 10 deaths in the country.

The latest figure brings the total confirmed cases to 149,369 out of which 125,722 have been treated and discharged.

The number of deaths recorded from the virus also increased to 1,787 in all the states and the Federal Capital Territory.
