February 9, 2022 ‘I’m Not Anybody’s Ex, I’m a Spec’ – Naomi, Ooni of Ife’s Estranged Wife, Breaks Her Social Media Silence

‘I’m Not Anybody’s Ex, I’m a Spec’ – Naomi, Ooni of Ife’s Estranged Wife, Breaks Her Social Media Silence

This is Queen Naomi’s first post on social media since Dec 2021 when she announced her separation from the Ooni.

The estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, Naomi Silekunola has finally broken her silence on social media.

It would be recalled that the last time the Queen shared a post on social media was in December 2021, when she announced that her marriage to the revered monarch was over.

In a video shared via her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, the Queen had the lyrics of ‘I Am Beauri’ by Afro-soul singer, Bassey Kenneth, popularly known as Beekay playing in the background;

I’m a beauri, I be spec, I drip glory, I be nobody’s ex, haters go hate o, potatoes will potate.”

The 28-year-old evangelist announced that her marriage to the monarch was over in 2021.

She also renounced the ‘Queen’ title.

There have been several reports in many quarters where a number of Yoruba monarchs have tried to resolve the crisis rocking their marriage.

It is not clear if the Ooni and his wife have resolved their differences.

February 8, 2022 Teenagers Criticize Zubby Michael’s Display Of ‘Extravagant’ N8m Food Receipt

Teenagers Criticize Zubby Michael’s Display Of ‘Extravagant’ N8m Food Receipt

On Tuesday, some adolescents in Kaduna criticized current Nollywood actor, Zubby Michael, for displaying N8,455,900 food bill that he shared on his Instagram account after eating at restaurant with his buddies in one night.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the actor, Zubby Michael, held his birthday party at a Lagos club on Feb. 6, during which he spent over N8 million and posted the receipt on his Instagram account, @Zubbymicheal, the following day, which attracted many roaring comments.

In an interview with a NAN correspondent, some of the teenagers described the amount spent on the food and displaying the receipt as extravagant, saying it is one among many factors that makes the youths engage in illegal activities to make money just to show it to the world.

Speaking, one Nnenna Amobi, a student at the Kaduna State University, said “So should we clap for Zubby Michael?, when some people are struggling to eat once or twice a day and he is spending such amount on junks in one night, that is madness.”

Also, Shafiu Salis, a barber’s shop owner, said some criminally-minded youths would see the receipt and start thinking of money rituals just to spend like the actor.

He advised the actor and others who may be tempted to also flaunt such extravaganzas to keep their receipts to themselves.

“Social media doesn’t need this; Don’t come and add to the problems of this generation, you are indirectly passing a wrong message to the teenagers and youths of these days, you spend N8m plus in one night, and you are showing us receipt, so we should fry egg for you?” he asked rhetorically.

Another teenager, Sadiq Adegoke, an NYSC member, said the receipt the actor flaunted has no significance to the public.

“These are some of the post that gives the youth wrong orientation of life, and will be hell bent on enriching themselves by whatever means.

“If you are financially capable of making yourself convenient, keep it to yourself, posting it online is doing more harm than good to us, I think it is right time to regulate the social media,” he said.

On his part, Nasiru Dan-Fulani, a business centre operator, said “Even if you spend this, you don’t need to post it, you know the situation of this country, stop oppressing the less privileged, we can not stop you from enjoying your life but use your brain.

“It is a wrong message to the below average Nigerians. Such an irrelevant post, Zubby Michael can chop the life of his head without oppressing those who could not afford a meal in a day,” Dan-Fulani said.

Also, Ephraim Joseph, said young boys somewhere would want to beat Zubby Michael’s record and then engage in diabolic means of making it quicker and bigger.

“Zubby may not have spent the money from his personal coffers since he was celebrating his birthday and of course celebrities attended to show him love, our problem is the showoff of that extravagant receipt for food which could be unhealthy in the minds of teenagers”.

Olamide Is Set To Take A Bow With Final Album ‘Unruly’

The Eyan Mayweather rapper is set for partial retirement.

After a decade of dominating the music scene in Nigeria with timeless classics, chart-topping bangers, and street anthems, the YBNL boss is set to make his graceful exit from the music game with his tenth and final album.

Olamide came into the mainstream with his daring single Enduro in 2011.
Rapsodi, his debut album, was released the same year.
Its main track, “Omo To Shan,” reached the top of the charts on various radio stations in Lagos and across Nigeria.
In 2013, it was followed by YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop) and Baddest Guy Ever Liveth.
The singer and rapper has amassed an immense catalog chock-full of pioneering singles and bangers that have soared beyond Africa and international borders.
But none of his endeavors would top Eyan Mayweather, he stated in tweet in 2020, the same year he released Carpe Diem, mid-tempo album that marked his move into his golden years.

“Next Album, #Unruly; 95% ready. Release date; I don’t know. Taking my time to make it the best ever… probably my last album.” “Though I’ll drop singles once in a blue moon when I feel like it. It’s been a mad ass run, giving albums back-to-back.”. He said.

This announcement has left fans with mixed reactions; some celebratory of Olamide’s decision, others perceiving it to be a joke.

While his mates, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido, who all stepped into the limelight in 2011 and the new wave of artists are continuously shooting for the stars and aiming for the moon for academy awards and international accolades, Olamide’s announcement indeed comes, as a shock considering, the nature of an industry that everyone hits the gas and never brakes.

Whether the message conveyed in the tweet is genuine or a publicity stunt to garner anticipation to his next album, Unruly, Olamide should be celebrated for a successive career run.

This is a progressive time for artists, where the definition of success is relative. Unlike other artists in the Nigerian music industry who consider winning a Grammy the final jewel to add to their self instilled crowns, For artists like Olamide, who are peculiar for not ardently chasing international acclaim, it is the opposite. The goal for these artists is to come, conquer and make a graceful exit while the ovation is loudest. And that is something!
