Mr Ibu Says He Is Not Begging Anybody For Financial Assistance’

The actor says he is open to receiving funds from his friends.

Nollywood actor John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu, has disclosed that he is not seeking financial assistance from the general public.

The movie star and comedian has been bedridden following an undisclosed illness.

In a video shared on social media, Okafor appealed to those taking advantage of his predicament to desist from it immediately.

"Some people have sold me...they haven't heard from me all they want to do is sell me. It won't work. God has risen me up...God has risen me up. I am not begging anybody for money," he said.

"Not as critical as they are talking about. Anybody whose business is to talk about my sickness and take advantage of it should stop."

Ibu has had health issues in the past which according to him almost sent him to an early grave.

In 2020 during an interview, the actor recounted how his staff were paid by his kinsmen to eliminate him because of his successful career.

"I nor dey take alcohol and people go say the belle is big. All the food wen I dey chop na small small food na since them give me that poison. I don dey take medicine so the thing don dey come down now I don dey see my legs. Before I nor dey see my legs," he said.

He went on to narrate how he was poisoned again in his office and left to die by his staff.

"Here in my office, they brought the first poison, I took it. I was falling around and nobody came to ask. Even the workers did not enter here even though they were hearing me fall around. I vomited something in my bathroom," he said.

"They paid them and gave them enough money to make sure they eliminate me. All these plans are from Enugu, my townspeople, and age grades that are surprised that I can own some things, build some houses, buy a house in Lagos. They asked them to go and kill me.''

Okafor is a Nigerian actor and comedian.

He is considered to be one of Nigeria's most talented comic characters.

Denrele Edun Schools Those Who Misunderstood His Intimacy With Goldie

Veteran media personality Derenle Edun has taken the position of a teacher to educate those who misconstrued his statement about having close intimacy with popular singer Goldie when she was alive.

This comes after some Nigerians took to social media some hours ago to drag Denrele after they misinterpreted his statement to mean he was having an affair with the late singer.

Denrele, in a statement via his Instastory, expressed his surprise as to how people had misconstrued the word intimacy to mean sex.

He wrote: "Either ways intimacy in this case means "shared secrets" and "One Corner" denotes "even catching me with someone in the corner." Denrele said it would be the first time Goldie would be trending many years since her death as he added that they would have had a good laugh over the way some Nigerians misinterpreted their closeness if she was alive.

See his post below:

Goldie Harvey was a Nigerian singer and Big Brother Africa reality star, when she was alive, she was close to Denrele; she, however, passed on in 2013.

Denrele Faces Backlash Over Extra-Marital Affair Claims With Late Singer, Goldie

Popular crossdresser and Nigerian TV host, Denrele Edun, has incensed several Nigerians with his shocking claims of having an affair with late singer, Goldie Harvey, while she was married.

His revelation was made during an interview with NeeCeeBosslady Blog which went viral on Wednesday.

“My beautiful late friend, Goldie, many people just thought we were friends,” he said.

“But we did have a few intimate moments; so that is why I will say that I was her driving force.

“I knew she was married, we kept that secret, but we had something more than friendship.

“We entered the corner, which is why I was constantly committed to seeing her shine.”

Reacting to the interview, Nigerians on Twitter chided Denrele for disrespecting his late friend’s memory.

Radio Presenter, Fola Folayan @FavouredWoman tweeted, “This was so so so unnecessary. Goldie didn’t deserve this in her death. We didn’t need to know. Nobody needed to know. Nobody!”

“Denrele, being flippant with a detail like that is hella disrespectful and stupid. There was absolutely no need for that,” @the_elfrida wrote.

“So wrong, this is so uncalled for @DENRELE_EDUN. Why not allow her loved ones to keep the good memories of her, why spoil it for them?” @agbomma71 tweeted.

Lawyer, Ridwan Oke @Ridiwanullahii said, “Denrele really messed up with that nonsense talk. It was absolutely unnecessary and unprovoked. No, you shouldn’t do that to anybody talk less of a person you called your friend. Now, you’ve gotten the attention you ordered for, what do you want to do with it?”

@scadofficial said, “what was Denrele trying to prove by saying he slept with late singer Goldie? That information is useless.”

While Edun’s relationship with Goldie was always under public scrutiny during her lifetime, her marriage to Malaysia-based engineer, Andrew Harvey, was a secret till her death, in 2013.
