Governors, Senators, Shy Away From Duties Yet Blame Buhari – 2Baba

According to 2Baba, many Governors, Senators, including actors avoid performing their tasks while blaming the president for Nigeria's problems.

In response to the threat to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari over the nation's security issues, the musician addressed the issue.

The president was given six weeks by lawmakers last Wednesday to solve the security situation or face impeachment proceedings.

The government is making a lot of effort to address the issue, according to communications minister Lai Mohammed.

In response to the situation, 2Baba made fun of the senators, representatives, and state governors who, in his opinion, would prefer to remain in their own comfort zones and hold the president responsible for the failures of the entire nation.

2Baba urged individuals to make other state actors, such as the inspector general of police, responsible for unwanted events that occur within their domains of control in a video published via his Instagram page.

“The whole news just got me cracking up, man. Nigeria is supposed to be called Comedy Central,” the singer said.

“They want to impeach Buhari based on one reason.

“It’s crazy that everyone just hides behind this convenient space and points at the president for every small thing, even as we have governors, senators, house of reps, inspector general of police, commandants, and citizens.

“Everybody is shying away from their responsibility and hiding behind their convenient space. Everything [is about the] president. It’s mad, man.”

Headies Withdraws Portable’s Nominations

The two nominations given to rising Afrobeats act Portable by the Headies Academy have been withdrawn, according to the academy.

The news was announced on Headies' social media outlets on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

The Headies Academy's choice was made necessary by Portable's recent legal maneuvering in which he asserted that the murderous One Million Boys gang, which terrorized Lagos residents during the lockdown, was founded by him.

Later, after receiving harsh criticism and sparking a police inquiry, Portable would dispute this assertion.
Should he lose either of the two categories he was nominated for, Portable has previously promised to kill other nominees.
Because the Headies Academy decided to revoke Portable's nomination, he would not have the opportunity to win the Rookie of the Year and Best Street Hop awards, for which he was nominated.
Part of the statement read, “We regret to announce that following numerous indicting statements made by Mr. Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as ‘Portable’, and the incessant negative attention that Mr Okikiola has garnered from the Nigeria Police and the general public in recent times, the organisers of the Headies have resolved to disqualify Mr Okikiola as a nominee at the forthcoming 15th Headies Awards.
“Being subject of an investigation relating to criminal activities, Mr Habeeb Okikiola is hereby disqualified from both categories of awards at the forthcoming 15th Annual Headies Awards scheduled to hold later this year.”
