Burna Boy And Rema Continue Ascension On UK Singles Chart

The Afrobeats contingent of Burna Boy, Rema, and Oxlade retained their top 30 places in the newest edition of the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, with Rema and Burna Boy ascending the Charts.

In the chart from October 7th to October 13th, 2022, Burna Boy's 'For My Hand' ft. Ed Sheeran, the British popstar, surged one position from Number 20 to a new peak of Number 19, extending his chart stay to 13 weeks.

Following Burna's cross-over single is Rema's 'Calm Down,' which climbed five places from Number 26 to achieve a new top of Number 21 and prolong its 6-week stay on the chart.

'Kulosa,' Oxlade's social media-driven smash, has remained at No. 27 this week as it enters its 12th week on the list.

Burna Boy's big single 'Last Last' closes off the Afrobeats category, moving down one position from Number 31 last week to Number 32 this week in its 21st week.

In this week's UK Official Afrobeats Top 20, Burna Boy's 'For Your Hand' retains the Number 1 spot.

JAE5's 'Propeller' featuring Dave & BNXN is holding the Number 2 spot. Burna Boy's 'It's Plenty' moved up two places from Number 5 last week to Number 3 this week. Asake's hit 'Joha' retains the Number 4 spot while Ayra Starr's latest hit single 'Rush' moved up 5 places from Number 10 last week to Number 5.

Victony & Tempoe's 'Soweto' retained the Number 6 spot while Omah Lay's 'I'm A Mess' holds the 7th spot. Wizkid's 'Bad To Me' nosedived from Number 3 last week to Number 10 this week.

Patrick Fakoya, better known as Rico Swavey on reality TV, was involved in a car accident.

On Tuesday, his Big Brother Naija season 3 ex-housemate, Alex Asogwa aka Alex Unusual, announced the sad news on her Twitter page.

According to her, the accident happened "hours ago," and physicians were attempting to revive Rico Swavey at the time she left the hospital.

Alex also encouraged people to remember Rico Swavey in their prayers because he was in a grave situation.

She also stated that she was remaining optimistic in the aftermath of the tragic event, and she shared a copy of the tweet on her Instagram story.

Alex, on the other hand, did not specify where or how the accident occurred.

The model tweeted, “Good morning sweethearts. Please put @iamricoswavey in your prayers today.

“He was involved in a ghastly accident hours ago and the doctors are still trying to resuscitate him as I just left the hospital. It’s really critical.

“I’m staying positive. #PrayForRicoSwavey”

Following her announcement, fellow BBNaija stars and fans took to the comment section to say words of prayers for Rico Swavey.

Wathoni from BBNaija season 5 said, “Praying for healing and God’s mercies.”

A fan, @sarahkelvin9, tweeted, “God of the 11th hour will visit him. He shall come out of this in Jesus name.”

Adekunle Gold, a Nigerian pop sensation, has disclosed that music producer and performing artist Pheelz organized his path to signing with YBNL Records. He revealed this revelation at his most recent London gig.

Adekunle Gold disclosed during his O2 Brixton event in London on Saturday, September 8th 2022 that his prior label partner and music producer Pheelz was instrumental in getting him signed to YBNL.

Adekunle Gold told an applauding throng, "Pheelz (Mr. Finesse) got me signed to YBNL."

The award-winning rapper also thanked YBNL CEO and megastar Olamide for providing him with the chance.

"I want to give a special shout-out to Olamide Baddo. Without Olamide, you guys won't know me," he said.

Dom Jazzy, Nigerian record label head, music producer, singing musician, media influencer, and philanthropist, lay his deceased mother to rest on Saturday, October 8, 2022, in the presence of various celebrities.
