I’m 43% Nigerian, Meghan Markle Opens Up

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has revealed her genetic origins, revealing that she is 43% Nigerian.

Markle stated this in the most recent edition of her podcast, Archetypes, in which she indicated a desire to discover more about her ancestors, Mirrors reported on Tuesday.

Markle spoke with American actress Issa Rae, Nigerian-American writer Ziwe Fumudoh, and academic Emily Bernards on the episode.

After then, the Duchess of Sussex said that she completed a genealogy test, which proved that she is 43% Nigerian.

She said, “I just had my genealogy done a couple of years ago.”

When her guests asked her to share what the results entailed, the Duchess said, “I’m 43% Nigerian,” to the shock of Ziwe, who responded, “No way!”.

Ziwe further asked, “Are you serious? This is huge. Igbo, Yoruba, do we know?”

The Duchess of Sussex then answered, “I’m going to start to dig deeper into all of this because anyone that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are just like, what?”

The podcast revelation was the first time Meghan opened up about her ancestral background on the public stage.

World Dirtiest Man Dies At 94 In Iran

An Iranian hermit known as the "world's dirtiest man" for not having a shower for more than 60 years has died at the ripe old age of 94, according to official media.

According to the Irna news agency, "Amou Haji," an affectionate nickname for an elderly person, died on Sunday in the hamlet of Dejgah in Fars' southern region of Fars.

Local media stated that Haji, who was coated in soot and lived in a cinder-block shanty, had not washed with water or soap in more than 60 years. Villagers claimed he refused to wash because of "emotional difficulties in his boyhood."

‘Amou Haji’, who did not bathe for half a century, reportedly ate roadkill and smoked pipe filled with animal excrement.

But a few months ago, villagers had persuaded him to wash for the first time, Irna reported.

After Haji’s death, the unofficial record could go to an Indian man who also had not bathed for much of his life.

After Haji’s death, the unofficial record could go to an Indian man who also had not bathed for much of his life.

In 2009 the Hindustan Times reported that Kailash “Kalau” Singh, from a village outside the holy city of Varanasi, had not washed for more than 30 years in an attempt to help end “all the problems confronting the nation”.

He would reject water in favour of what he called a “fire bath”. “Every evening as villagers gather, Kalau … lights a bonfire, smokes marijuana and stands on a leg praying to Lord Shiva,” the paper said.

Singh was reported to have said: “It’s just like using water to take a bath. Fire bath helps kill all the germs and infections in the body.”

Shatta Wale Lashes Out At Ghanaians Claiming He Copied Burna Boy On His Latest Single

Shatta Wale is back in the news, and this time he has a message for his detractors who are ridiculing him for ripping off Burna Boy on his new tune.

Shatta Wale released a new track named 'Cash Out' on Friday, October 20th, 2022.

The mid-tempo song is composed and delivered in the style of Burna Boy. The resemblance has sparked criticism and scorn among Ghanaian fans, who believe Shatta Wale is attempting to steal a hit by imitating the Grammy-winning megastar.

Shatta Wale has responded to the criticism, claiming that fans who don't know music are the ones making incorrect remarks about him imitating Burna Boy on 'Cash Out.'

"Your brother drops song and it's doing well. Instead of supporting the song, Ghanaians are busy saying he copied Burna Boy. It's a shame...Let me tell you something if you don't know music just shut up. Everybody sings and everybody does music," Shatta Wale said in the post.

Shatta Wale is not the first Ghanaian singer to be chastised by fans for imitating Nigerian artists and sounds. Camidoh, a Ghanaian musician, claimed in an interview with Pulse Nigeria that only confused fans will blame him for sounding like a Nigerian because his music isn't just for Ghanaians.
