October 24, 2022 2023: God Called Me And Jandor To Change Lagos Story — Funke Akindele

2023: God Called Me And Jandor To Change Lagos Story — Funke Akindele

Ms Funke Akindele, the PDP's Deputy Governorship Candidate in Lagos State, believes God has called her and the PDP's Governorship Candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), to alter the story of the state if elected in 2023.

This speech was given by Akindele, a prominent Nollywood actress, at the Sunday Worship Service of the Ayo Ni O Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Surulere District, Badagry Circuit Headquarters.

God, she claims, has been with her from birth and is interested in her ambitions to make Lagos work for all parts and divisions of the state.

“God has been with me from infant till I went to school and till now. He chose me to be the deputy governorship candidate of the PDP, despite the crowd that struggled to be chosen.

“I give God all the glory for what he has done. God has always been doing the best for me.

“We were called by God, if not we would have backed out. People have suffered but God has called us and put us forward to come and change the story of Lagos state to better. The success of Lagos state is ours,” she said.

Akindele expressed gratitude to the church leaders for their prayers and assistance.

Leading a congregational prayer session for Akindele, Snr Apostle Akinwale Pearse, the church's Caretaker Committee Chairman, asked members to pray to God to fulfill the deputy governorship candidate's goals.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sunday Hunyinbo, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Badagry Local Government Area, praised Akindele and Adediran for seeking God and his blessings in their endeavors.

Hunyinbo encouraged the deputy governorship candidate and her principal to walk the walk and keep all of the promises they made to voters throughout their campaigns if they were elected in 2023.

“This time around it should not be business as usual. I saw sincerity of purpose in them when Jandor met with us yesterday. Badagry has been marginalised enough.

“We are praying for you. God will take you there. I am neither an APC or PDP or LP member but God’s will will be fulfilled. God will back you up,” Hunyinbo said.

Pastor Adedokun Adewale, who emphasized the importance of all people fearing God, said in his sermon that man's disobedience and sins led to his fall from creation.

According to him, the fall of man is not the end of the story since God is loving and trustworthy, requiring man to repent in order to avert eternal death.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Adediran and Akindele launched their campaigns on Wednesday, beginning a tour of 245 wards throughout the state's 20 local government areas.

While Adediran continued to meet with key community stakeholders and groups in the region, Akindele was traveling several marketplaces and churches in search of support ahead of the general elections.

Ooni Of Ife Set To Marry 6th Wife In 2 Months

Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, is preparing to marry for the sixth time in less than two months.

On Sunday, October 23, 2022, the Ooni's spokesperson, Moses Olafare, announced the wedding in a Facebook post.

The monarch will marry his sixth wife, Temitope Adesegun, on Monday, October 24, 2022, according to the statement.

This comes less than a week after Oba Ogunwusi married Ronke Ademiluyi, the originator of African Fashion Week, in a ceremony on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

According to Inspiration FM, Olori Ademiluyi is the great-granddaughter of Ajagun Ademiluyi, the 48th Ooni of Ife.

According to Olafare's post, the Ooni's sixth wife-to-be, Adesegun, is an Ijebu princess.

"Olori Temitope Adesegun Ogunwusi an Ijebu Princess cum Ile-Ife Queen," Olafare said on Facebook.

“Tomorrow is the D-day.”

It should be noted that the acclaimed king's previous (third) wife, Naomi Silekunola, stated in December 2021 that her marriage to the monarch will end.

The former queen and the Ooni of Ife married roughly three years ago and had a son together.

Ooni has been married to several women, including Adebukola Bombata, the reported first wife of the Ooni of Ife, who divorced the king shortly after he assumed the throne.

Following the failure of his marriage to Silekunola, the king has wedded five ladies in less than two months.

The queens are as follows: Mariam Anako, now his wife, on September 6, 2022; Elizabeth Akinmudai and Tobiloba Philips on October 9, 2022; Ashley Adegoke on October 14, 2022; and Ronke Ademiluyi on October 20, 2022.

TAFM Unveils Second Edition, Opens Entry For Films Across Africa

The Annual Film Mischief festival's organizers have announced its second edition for 2023.

The festival's 2023 edition, themed #ShootTheCulture, will continue to draw passionate short film fans and creators from  all over Africa to the city of Lagos, Nigeria.

The festival, which, like the first edition, will mostly highlight films of Nigerian provenance, but also include films from other African countries.

Chukwu Martin, founder of TAFM confirmed the festival's new edition in a statement. “In March 2022, we launched The Annual Film Mischief to shine the spotlight on filmmakers daring to tell stories with unique narratives and styles. The average African filmmaker comes from humble beginnings and though there will be limited resources, there will never be limits to creativity, hence our theme – ‘Less is More’. It was a call to action to reach beyond financial limitations and dig into the abundant well of creativity.”

According to the press statement, the festival selections will include domestic and international feature and short films. Submissions for the 2023 edition of The Annual Film Mischief will officially open November 1st, 2022, and filmmakers are encouraged to submit entries early enough through TAFM’s filmfreeway page at no cost at all.

Martin mentioned the previous film's success at the festival and went on to represent the industry internationally. "We had some accomplishments to be proud of. ‘Yahoo+’, one of the films screened at TAFM ’22, went on to get nationwide theatrical distribution with moderate success at the Nigerian box office.”

Other directors whose movies featured at the last event went on to gain recognition at film festivals both local and internationally. Olabode Izy, who earned the Audience Cheese Pick award at the festival last year for his film 'The Samaritan,' went on to get acclaim at other festivals like as Realtime International Film Festival and Cuckoo International Film Awards.
