Don Jazzy Donates N100m to VeryDarkMan’s Charity Organization

Nigerian music producer and executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has generously donated N100 million to the NGO of controversial activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

In a video shared on his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan revealed his initial shock upon discovering the large sum in his bank account. Unsure of the source, he feared it might be an error or a setup, as those he contacted denied transferring the funds. His confusion turned to relief when Don Jazzy reached out to confirm that he had made the donation to support the activist's NGO.

VeryDarkMan recently announced the launch of his organization, which aims to further his advocacy work.

Bobrisky Responds to Falana and Falz: ‘Hold VeryDarkMan Accountable’

Popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has responded to human rights activist and lawyer Femi Falana and his son, Folarin, commonly referred to as Falz, by demanding that they hold controversial media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, accountable for the defamatory content circulating on social media.

Bobrisky emphasized that he never provided any money to Falana or his son for assistance in securing a presidential pardon during his time in prison. This statement follows Falana and Falz's request for a public apology and retraction concerning allegations made by Bobrisky in various audio recordings.

In one of the audios shared by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky claimed to have contacted Falz for help in convincing his father (Falana) to facilitate a presidential pardon that was supposedly worth N10 million. He also mentioned asking Falz for N3 million to ensure special treatment at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

Another audio clip from VeryDarkMan featured Bobrisky alleging that he had paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to secure a Federal Government pardon for charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a letter dated October 14, 2024, from Falana’s legal representatives, Olorunfemi Akinyemi and Taiwo E. Olawanle, Bobrisky was accused of making false and damaging statements regarding Falana and Falz's involvement in alleged bribery and the presidential pardon. The legal team labeled Bobrisky’s claims as baseless and detrimental to Falana’s reputation, demanding a full retraction and an apology published across all platforms where the statements were made.

In his response, Bobrisky insisted that he never gave any money to Falana or Falz for a presidential pardon and argued that the individual responsible for disseminating the defamatory content should be held accountable.

“I, Okuneye Idris, also known as Bobrisky, did not give Falz or his dad any money for pardon. No money was exchanged. I have stated this before and will reiterate it. The person who published the audio online should take full responsibility for what he posted publicly,” Bobrisky wrote in an Instagram story on Wednesday.

In a subsequent post, he added, “In reply to the two letters circulating from the law firm of the Falanas, I want to clarify that I, Okuneye Idris Olarewaju, also known as Bobrisky, did not publish any defamatory statements regarding the learned SAN and his son, Falz. I deny any knowledge of what VDM published. I urge that anyone who feels defamed should hold the publisher of the defamatory content accountable, and I expect my fundamental right to privacy regarding my communications to be respected and protected.”

Falana Demands Bobrisky Apologize and Retract Defamatory Statements Within 12 Hours

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, and his son, Folarin, have demanded that popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, retract defamatory statements linking them to an alleged N10 million bribe. They have also called for a public apology on all platforms that carried the false claims.

In a letter dated October 14, 2024, written by their legal team, Olorunfemi Akinyemi and Taiwo Olawanle, the Falanas gave Bobrisky a 12-hour deadline from receipt of the letter to issue the retraction and apology. Failure to comply will result in legal action, including claims for monetary damages, over the baseless accusations.

The letter stated: “We have confirmed that you exploited your recent imprisonment to extort money from artists and other members of the public. On May 4, 2024, you contacted Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, asking him for N3 million to secure special treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Even though Falz refused, you falsely claimed in a video that his father, our client, had agreed to write a letter of pardon for you and that N10 million would be needed to bribe officials for this favor.”

The letter further mentioned that Bobrisky had falsely alleged he paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to secure a government pardon for charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Falanas’ letter emphasized that these allegations were fabricated to enrich Bobrisky at their expense, tarnishing Femi Falana’s reputation both locally and internationally.

"You have made these defamatory statements recklessly, knowing that you never contacted our client to write a letter of pardon on your behalf," the letter continued. "Our client has obtained pardon for over 300 Nigerians on a pro bono basis, but your false claims have caused serious damage to his reputation."

The letter concluded with a stern warning that if Bobrisky fails to retract his statements and issue an apology within the stipulated time, legal proceedings will be initiated against him for the defamatory remarks.
