Police Confirm Lil Smart’s Arrest After Naira Marley’s Petition

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed the arrest of popular dancer Lil Smart following a petition filed by singer Naira Marley.

Lil Smart’s arrest comes nearly two weeks after reports of his sudden disappearance. The police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the development in a viral post on social media on Friday.

According to Adejobi, Lil Smart was taken into custody over allegations of criminal defamation, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and spreading falsehoods. In a widely circulated video, the dancer was paraded and admitted to making false allegations against Naira Marley.

“Following a petition filed for criminal defamation, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and falsehood, the Force secured the arrest of Idowu Smart Emmanuel, who later confessed that his allegations were untrue,” Adejobi stated.

Lil Smart expressed regret over his accusations, admitting that he made the claims without solid evidence.

This development follows concerns raised by Nollywood filmmaker Stanley Ontop, who had accused Naira Marley of orchestrating Lil Smart’s disappearance.

On December 9, 2024, Lil Smart had posted a distressing message on Instagram, alleging that both Naira Marley and Zinoleesky had threatened his life. He subsequently filed a petition against the duo with the police.

Chef Dammy Embarks on Professional Culinary Training in Lagos

Nigerian chef Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has officially commenced her professional culinary training at the Hospitality Business School (HBS) in Lagos.

Chef Dammy, who gained national recognition for her cook-a-thon attempt in June 2023, is now pursuing a professional diploma in culinary arts on a full scholarship. The scholarship, provided by Horecabb Mentors, covers her training in the Professional Culinary Art Chef course.

Expressing her excitement on Instagram, Chef Dammy shared a photo of herself in her new school uniform, writing, "My first time in a school uniform as a proper pro. Chef in the making."

She humorously recounted her initial shyness and the warm welcome from fellow students. “I ran back into the hostel to go and blush. When I stepped out, I started hearing, ‘Chef Dammy, you’re finally wearing the uniform, so fine!’ So I ran back inside, took selfies, and blushed again.”

Chef Dammy also expressed deep gratitude to Nigerian food entrepreneur Oluwatobi Fletcher, popularly known as Ofadaboy, along with the Group CEO of Horecabb Mentors, Dr. Mekwuye Eric, and the Ekiti State Government for their support in making her enrollment possible.

“A big thank you to Ofadaboy and the CEO of HBS for making this a reality. Special appreciation to my amazing lawyer. I’m also deeply grateful to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and Her Excellency, Dr. Yemi Oyebanji, for their unwavering support.”

The scholarship, a collaboration between HBS, Ofadaboy, and the Ekiti State Government, was initially announced in December 2024 at the Ofada Rice Day Festival. In January, Dr. Mekwuye confirmed that Chef Dammy would also receive five additional free courses through the HBS Lagos Scholarship, ensuring she becomes a well-rounded chef.

Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has ventured into the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, just months after her removal from office.

Kennedy-Ohanenye was appointed as a minister in August 2023 but was dismissed on October 23, 2024, during a cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Tinubu. Now, just four months after her exit from the government, the 51-year-old politician has shifted her focus to filmmaking.

Announcing her new career on her X (formerly Twitter) handle, she shared a video from her latest project, signaling her official entry into Nollywood.

Aside from her political career, Kennedy-Ohanenye is also a lawyer and entrepreneur. She joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and made history as the party’s first female presidential aspirant in 2023 before withdrawing to support Tinubu.

“You Stole My Producer and Dancer” – Portable Accuses Olamide

Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has taken a jab at veteran rapper and music executive Olamide following speculations of a fallout between him and his former signee, Asake.

Rumors have been circulating that Asake parted ways with Olamide’s YBNL Nation under controversial circumstances. Reacting to the news in a video shared on his social media page, Portable mocked Olamide, recalling how the rapper only gave him a verse on his hit song Zazu instead of signing him to his record label.

Despite this, Portable claimed he remained more grateful than Asake, whom Olamide not only signed but also heavily promoted and sponsored.

He further alleged that rather than signing him, Olamide "snatched" his producer, dancer, and former promoter, Kogbagidi.

“Olamide Baddo, if you had asked me to sign to your record label, I would have gladly accepted it," Portable said. "But instead of signing me, you took my producer, dancer, and promoter Kogbagidi from me.

“The person you helped [Asake] doesn’t rate you anymore. You only gave me a verse, yet I’m still more grateful than Asake, whom you gave everything. Promote me the way you promoted Asake and see if I won’t progress more than him.”

Portable’s statement has sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some supporting his claims while others see it as another attempt to stir controversy.
