Arsenal have officially confirmed the departure of Josh Robinson, who has joined League One side Wigan Athletic on a permanent transfer.
The announcement comes just ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League away fixture against Brentford on Wednesday evening. In their statement, the club expressed gratitude for Robinson’s contributions:
“We thank Josh for his contribution to the club during his time with us and wish him all the best for his next chapter with Wigan Athletic.”
Robinson joined Arsenal’s academy in March 2016 at just 11 years old, progressing through the ranks at Hale End. He signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2023.
The 20-year-old versatile defender made 65 appearances for Arsenal’s U-18 and U-21 teams and earned first-team involvement this season. Notably, he was named an unused substitute in four of Arsenal’s six UEFA Champions League group stage matches.
Arsenal fans will be watching closely as Robinson embarks on this new chapter in his career at Wigan Athletic.
