The power play within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has claimed its first casualty, with the resignation of the Director General of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Dr. Salihu Lukman.
Inspiration FM learnt that his resignation may not be unconnected with the crisis which has trailed the February National Convention of the APC.
Lukman had maintained a tough stance that the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) chaired by the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni and other members of the committee resigns if they are unable to conduct the national convention of the party tentatively in February.
The decision to relieve Lukman of his duty was deliberated at the meeting of APC governors held on Sunday night at Kebbi Lodge in Abuja.
According to sources, a few of the governors had demanded that he be booted out for being too vocal.
