D’Tigress forward Evelyn Akhator has set her sights helping her new club, CB Avenida win laurels after she was unveiled on Wednesday in Salamanca.
Akhator, a standout performer for D’Tigress at the 2019 AfroBasket Women tournament in Senegal, signed a one year deal with the Spanish club.
She has been dubbed one of its great signings for the 2019-2020 season.
Akhator, whose arrival at the club was delayed due to visa issues, will be available for the final of the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday in Girona.
“I am very happy to be here, “Akhator said during her unveiling ceremony.
“My delay was down to my inability to secure an entry visa problem but I am finally here and I want to play now.
“The first days here are being very good, the group has received me very well, it is a great feeling to be here. I already saw the team last season when I played in Turkey and I can’t wait to get started here.”
The former Dallas Wings draftee (3rd overall in 2017) believes that her character can help the team succeed.
