Ademola Lookman was absent from training on Saturday as the Super Eagles began preparations for their final Group C match in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Rwanda.
According to Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe, the Atalanta forward sustained a knock during Thursday’s 1-1 draw against Benin Republic. Lookman was substituted late in the game, with Frank Onyeka taking his place.
His availability for Monday’s match against the Amavubi will be determined after the team’s final training session on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has been released from camp due to an injury also picked up in the game against Benin. Additionally, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has left camp following the passing of his father.
The Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Monday, as they look to wrap up their qualifying campaign on a high note.
