Crawley Town defender Benjamin Tanimu has been called up to replace Bright Osayi-Samuel in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Osayi-Samuel, who plays for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig, withdrew from the matches due to an injury. Tanimu received a late invitation from caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen and arrived at the team's base at Four Points by Sheraton in Uyo on Tuesday afternoon.
The 22-year-old, who recently signed with English League One club Crawley Town, will join his teammates for their first training session tonight.
