Nollywood star Ada Ameh has passed away.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria's president, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the actress's passing.
“We lost Ada. No details at the moment, but we’ve lost Ada,” Rollas told a correspondent.
The actress passed away on Sunday night at a hospital in Delta State. She was most known for playing Emu in the Africa Magic family drama, The Johnsons.
Several reports claim that the actress was a guest of a prominent executive of an oil firm and his family when she abruptly slumped during a celebration.
She reportedly received emergency medical attention and was pronounced dead at the NNPC facility in Warri, Delta State.
The autopsy report of the most likely cause or causes of Adah Ameh's sudden death has not yet been made public by the NNPC hospital in Warri.
Additionally, DSP Bright Edafe, the police public relations officer (PPRO) for Delta State Command, could not be reached for comment at the time this report was filed.
Recall that a few weeks ago, the actress opened up about her mental health challenges.
She said: "Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now and it is taking my life. I nor go die. We will get over it, we will get over it. I was given a job and I didn't do the job because I had mental issues,"
"Would people understand when you say you have mental issues? They won't. They are slamming me with a bill, suing me, it's okay."
Despite her early motherhood, the actress, in October 2020, lost her daughter, Aladi Godgift, who was over 30 years old.
In 2020, an operation gone awry caused the movie star to lose her one and only kid.
Ameh first gained notoriety in 1996 for her performance as Anita in the film "Domitilla," and more recently, for her comedic roles, particularly in the sitcom "The Johnsons."
The well-known actress, who was born in Ajegunle, Lagos, on May 15, 1974, posted a video of herself eating with her family on Sunday at 12:53 p.m. on her official Instagram page.
