Workers of the National Identity Management Commission are expected to resume work today after suspending the strike action they embarked upon on Thursday.
The workers embarked on strike over the spread of COVID-19 among staff, delay in promotion and lack of appropriate funding.
The workers decided to put the strike on hold after a meeting with the Federal Government, where it was agreed that their demands would be addressed.
President, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, NIMC Unit, ASEKOKHAI LUCKYÂ said workers of the commission across the country will resume work by Monday and begin the enrolment of citizens for the National Identity Numbers.
But as the offices of the NIMC nationwide brace-up for a deluge of applicants expected to flood their offices, the question of disregard of Covid 19 protocols casts a shady cloud, with Nigerians wondering about the call for registration during the second wave of coronavirus pandemic.
