The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has cancelled today's Confederation Cup clash between Rivers United and South African side Bloemfontein Celtic.

The African football governing body announced the cancellation via their Twitter handle citing possible breaches of Covid-19 protocols.

The NFF said the request followed the refusal of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to step down on some of the COVID-19 protocols such as the quarantine period for the South African contingent.

The NFF had in a letter to CAF on Monday, asked that the game be postponed and possibly relocated to a neighbouring country, at a different date from the previously scheduled date
