Nigeria's Israel Adesanya has been named the *International Fighter of the Year*, following the conclusion of the 12th WORLD MMA AWARDS.

 

The 31 year-old who is based in New Zealand, brushed off the challenge of other top stars including fellow countryman Kamaru Usman to claim the award.

 

In addition to the *International Fighter of the Year* crown, Adesanya also went home with the *Charles "Mask" Lewis Fighter of the Year* Award.
