BURUJI KASHAMU, the late former senator, has been buried in Ogun State, a day after he died from complications of COVID-19 at the age of 62.
KASHAMU was interred at his Ijebu-Igbo home in Ogun State.
Before the internment, former military and civilian leader, OLUSEGUN OBASANJO had written a controversial condolence letter to Ogun State Governor, DAPO ABIODUN on the death of Senator BURUJI KASHAMU, a politician and businessman.
KASHAMU, until his death, was wanted by the United States Department of Justice over alleged drug trafficking and money laundering.
OBASANJO accused KASHAMU of manoeuvring the law and politics to escape from facing justice on alleged criminal offence in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
OBASANJO, who maintained a bitter and deep grudge against the deceased Senator, said in his letter that while KASHAMU’sdeath was sad, the life and history of the departed have lessons for those on this side of the veil.
