The management of MFM FC have said interim coach Oludimu Edmund will oversee the club until further notice, after he took charge of the team in their 3-1 win over Kano Pillars in their Nigeria Professional Football League tie on Sunday.
Speaking with journalists at the end of the match, MFM Director, Davidson Adejuwon, refuted claims the club had sacked head coach Tony Bolus.
Adejuwon said the club was undergoing restructuring and would come out with their position after the process.
“At the moment, the board has decided that the decision on the issue of coach Bolus or coach Edmund is not something to be announced to the press because it still remains an internal issue. We can only address the press on it when that is sorted out,” Adejuwon said.
“At the moment, there are some issues that requires restructuring in the club and that is ongoing, it is after this that we would be able to tell the press the appropriate position of the club. During this restructuring, coach Edmund remains in charge of the club.”
There were reports in the media that the club sacked Bolus after their 1-0 home loss to Enyimba last Wednesday.
MFM however called those claims false and also said they were yet to receive any resignation letter from the embattled Bolus.
