The state Ministry of Transportation has announced the commencement of the removal of some roundabouts identified as major causes of gridlock in the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who went to inspect the removal of the Lekki 2nd roundabout, said his administration was committed to eliminating the state of gridlock.

The Governor said the removal of the roundabouts and giant billboards would give room for road expansion and strategically ease traffic congestion in some parts of the metropolis.

Four roundabouts, Ikotun; 2nd roundabout on the Lekki-Epe Expressway; Allen Avenue roundabout; and Maryland identified as the major causes of gridlock in the state.
