December 17, 2019 Organised Labour To Go On Warning Strike On Thursday Over Minimum Wage.

Organised Labour, comprising Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), in Ogun State, said they will embark on two days warning striker with effect from Thursday.

The Labour unions said they have resolved to embark on the action, unless the state government invites them for discussion on consequential adjustment of the new N30,000 minimum wage on or before Wednesday this week.

The Ogun leader of the NLC, Bankole Emmanuel said it is very depressing that despite writing to the state government five times between August and December this year on the need to set up the negotiation committee to determine the consequential adjustment on the new minimum wage, Governor Dapo Abiodun has failed to attend to their demand.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Abdulrazak Bello Barkindo said that contrary to reports, some governments were already negotiating with organized labour.
