Enyimba defeated FC San-Pedro 1-0 to secure their first win in the CAF Confederations Cup at the Aba Township Stadium on Sunday.
Substitute Martins Usule scored Enyimba’s only goal in the 64th minute, firing into the bottom corner.
After both sides played a goalless first half, Coach Usman Abd’Allah made a double substitution in the 50th minute, bringing in Usule for Samson Obi and Iwuala Anayo for Stanley Dimgba.
The move paid off, as Usule scored 14 minutes later.
He almost doubled the lead for the Peoples Elephant three minutes later but failed to make a perfect contact with Anayo’s cross. The win comes after Enyimba lost their first Group D match againt Hassania Agadir
