Security personnel stationed at the complex barred the governor’s convoy from entering, citing a lack of official communication between Fubara and the Assembly as the reason for their actions.

Fubara, however, contested their stance, asserting that he had informed Speaker Martins Amaewhule of his visit. He claimed to have sent a letter and even attempted to reach the Speaker by phone since Tuesday, efforts that apparently went unacknowledged. The standoff at the gates underscored simmering tensions, leaving the governor’s intentions and the Assembly’s response shrouded in uncertainty.
